The Viericka salt mine was the crystallization of medieval labor art. From the 14th century, the Vilicika Salt Mine became one of the mining cities. The 15th ～16th century was the heyday. The 18th ～19th century salt mine began to expand and became a famous salt capital in Poland. It was listed as a national monument in 1976 and was designated as one of the world cultural heritages by the United Nations in 1978.
