The food was fantastic, we had the le Carte menu, but looking at other diners it all looked fantastic. The service was good. Will return soon.

This small family run restaurant was recommended to us and our meal was superb. The crab volute was exceptional and our entire meal was delicious. We had booked for Friday evening and the restaurant was fully booked. All dishes are individually prepared and so one must accept some delay in meals coming to the table, the anticipation is well worth it. An absolutely wonderful evening and highly recommended restaurant.

An agreeable family restaurant with pleasant view of the Charente river and easy adjacent free parking. The waitress was charming and the menu gave plenty of choice for our group. The dishes were really good, and quantities generous. The only problem was the speed of service. All the (10?) tables were full and indeed the place was marked as "complet" on the door. With just one server, there were very long pauses between courses. We were on vacation so for us not really a serious problem but eventually we wanted to move on and visit the great town of Angoulême. All guests seemed to have the same delays, but again during a leisurely Saturday it did not seem an issue - though I think that this may be a problem for a business lunch or customers with an afternoon appointment.

It's difficult to take away 1 star as everything was perfect: the welcome, the location with the Charente below, the service, the quality of the products used, everything was perfect for a great evening. I recommend it.

Perfect service, top-notch friendliness and succulent and plentiful dishes! A very good time for my dad's 70th birthday, we were charmed and delighted! We will come back! You can go there with your eyes closed (and your mouth wide open, your taste buds will appreciate it for sure!).
