Restaurant La Paillotte

You're definitely paying for the view, which is special. The food was ok, nothing special, portions are on the small side. The shrimp cocktail was one shrimp on a bed of coleslaw. We did complain about that and they brought us a few more shrimp but it was awhile later. Service was very good.

Beautiful setting and our waiter was charming. I’ve been to this restaurant many times and although the food was good there weren’t the menu choices I remember from previous visits.

We have been to la Paillotte in the past and were pleased. We took friends last week and were disappointed. Food we didn't order arrived at the table, one of the waiters seemed to run away when we had a problem to resolve and when the problem was resolved the solution was unsatisfactory. The standars at this restaurant appear to have slipped since our last visit which is a shame because it is in a wonderful location and our past experiences have been excellent. I write this review in the capacity of a former, private chef.

We recalled the food being good with an amazing location. This time the location could not make up for the poor quality of the food. Sliced bread and chips was served with tuna tartare which demonstrates how little the restaurant knew about food. We will not be repeating this mistake- there are too many good restaurants nearby.

I have dined here before. The grounds were scruffy and unkempt. Another diners were eating in darkness and a rat was in the bushes nearby. I felt ignored by the end of the evening so did not order a dessert
