Cafe des Amis

We try to visit the Foundry every time that we visit friends in Canterbury (about twice a year). Every visit the food, beer,  &amp; service has been excellent. Highly recommended!

📖Route: Start from London Bridge. Today, there are many delays due to the train block, but the basic route is to take the southeast line to Ashford international. After arriving at the station, remember to take the bus to Cantebury West. The bus will take about half an hour. The journey takes about 2.5 hours, so be sure to relax and slow down.

✅Must-visit attractions: I chose to waste half a day here because the first lesson of English literature in my undergraduate studies was Chaucer&#39;s Cantebury Tales, which seemed to take me back to the university classroom nearly 20 years ago.

This is a fairy-tale medieval town. Even without any background, there are relaxing points at every step. You can order a cup of coffee at a cafe to relax, stop at some interesting souvenir shops, take some back if you can, and find a bench directly to gradually slow down your irritable heart in a slightly cold but artistic environment.

🍜Must-eat food: I recommend a small shop called Tiny Tims Tearoom. Order a British afternoon tea and spend some time listening to piano playing. It is good enough to taste it by yourself without letting your phone eat first. For Chinese people, there is a supermarket near the station at the entrance of the castle, which has many Asian delicacies (many kinds of instant noodles! Definitely satisfy you!)

🏠Accommodation recommendation: Since we came from the city of London, we did not have accommodation, but we saw Hilton by Hampton, so the basic quality should be guaranteed.

✏️Practical Tips: It is affordable to buy tickets with Trainpal. If you have plenty of time and like to walk around freely, don&#39;t join a group! It is convenient and saves money to come by yourself!

UK | Real beauty without filters
I drove from London to Canterbury and the White Cliffs of Dover. It didn&rsquo;t take long. It took 2 hours to drive from the most central block to London&rsquo;s back garden, which is the oil painting town in Figures 1-6. Because there was a strong wind warning that day, the boats on the lake were also suspended. Otherwise, you can enjoy more beautiful scenery along the river!

Dover White Cliffs Because I arrived late, and the arrogant strong wind blew me down, I only walked a short distance. It only takes half an hour to drive from Canterbury! The bus also takes about the same time.

📍 First stop: Canterbury Cathedral 
The oldest Christian holy place in the UK, the Gothic architecture is stunning! Stained glass windows, the site of St. Thomas&#39;s martyrdom, every shot is a blockbuster📸. Tickets are &pound;15.5, it is recommended to go in the morning when there are fewer people~ 

🚶&zwj;♂️ Second stop: Westgate Gardens &amp; City Wall Trail 
Walk along the medieval city walls and overlook the beautiful scenery of the Stour River. The cherry blossom season in Westgate Gardens is super romantic, and you can also take a boat tour on the river, which is super British! 

🏰 Third stop: Canterbury Tales Center 
Immerse yourself in Chaucer&#39;s &quot;Canterbury Tales&quot;, the interactive exhibition is super interesting, suitable for children or literature lovers! 

🍽️ Lunch recommendation: The Goods Shed 
Local farmers market + Michelin recommended restaurant, the ingredients are super fresh! Must try cod cheeks and handmade bread, about &pound;30 per person. 

🛍️ Stop 4: King&#39;s Mile &amp; Old Weaver&#39;s House 
Cobblestone streets + retro shops, handicrafts, afternoon tea, super fun! Don&#39;t forget to check in at the &quot;Leaning House&quot;🏠. 

🚆 Transportation Tips: 1 hour train from London, buy early bird tickets for a better deal! 

💡 Best season: Spring and summer (April-September), sunshine + greenery beyond the movie!
