This restaurant is really great. The sashimi is super fresh, the eel is super tender, and the beef cubes are relatively light in taste.

Good service, and nice varied menu in a casual environment. They offer many side dishes, the cheese grits, broccoli, collard greens and snap peas were wonderful.Our main courses were crab cakes and ribs. All four of us were happy with this informal restaurant.

A restaurant that is not cheap but tastes good

This is a rustic restaurant in downtown Charlottesville. The food was very good, however, they had a problem dealing with pacing of the food. We ordered cocktails, and they didn't arrive till we got the entrees, and well after the appetizers. The waiter was apologetic and he kept us posted about the delay. Other than that, good food, friendly staff, reasonable prices.

We had been out all day and our innkeeper suggested trying Maya for something different - more southern. Service was good and our waitress was sweet but tho food is best described as ok, not great. The ribs were alright but not out standing... The price was similar to what we have paid elsewhere for food that was less appealing
