Davy's Wine Vaults

The first thing we noticed was the ambience and the cleanliness of this lovely eating house. The food excellent and presented perfectly. The waiting staff were very courteous and polite. I would recommend Davy’s wine vaults to anyone who appreciates nice dining experiences. Top marks to the staff and everyone involved in making our visit so memorable.

Of course Davy's is known for their wine but the food was equally good. We thought the food was superb. The chili brocoli, the green beans with shallots, the linguine - were all full of flavour and tender,d the vegetables were left green. The steak was truly the way I like it - (a rare thing in London), and the chips some of the best I've had. Really crispy with good oil, soft, hot and satisfying. The welcome from staff was great - the waiter was a little cool and a little slow, however totally professional. Neither of us like music while we eat and talk. Thankfully the music was not overpowering and stayed like a small irritation in the background. This place is a find, mainly because of the great location, the understated, ancient interior and the fantastic cooking.
