Perfection The food was lovingly prepared, delicious and welcoming. The staff were friendly and the setting was comfortable.
Lovely food and a good variety, excellent atmosphere providing immediate familiar comfort. Last to mention, with honours, the staff: everybody absolutely kind and warm.
I have lived in Sheffield and now Derbyshire for 30 years and had not been to the Chequers for some time. I was impressed with the food enough to write this review as it was excellent. And I eat out while travelling for work about 10 weeks a year.
Fantastic all round once we got there although signage re blocked road could have been much better on the road and your website and cost us a 20 minute detour enroute
This has all the appearance of a traditional country pub. However, the food, as well as the service, takes dining to another level altogeher. The insides are clean and well looked after. The tables are shiny and polished and are not sticky with overwaxinglike some pubs. The service is really friendly, welcoming and down to earth. And the beer is good. However, it's the food that raises the bar (pardon the pun). The flavours of the food are well matched and exceptional. It may sound expensive but there is a reason and it is an excellent reason; the food is absolutely exquisite. Is there anything to recommend? It's all good. No, Really, it is!
