Inuit Café

Although Greenland belongs to Denmark, it is far away from the European continent. Most of the goods are shipped from Denmark, so the local price index is relatively high! Inuit Cafe & Restaurant is located in the center of Ilulissat. It mainly sells local food. Muskus (musk steak) and Whale Steak (whale steak) are local specialties. The ingredients are fresh and we can't eat them normally. Muskus steak is especially delicious! The cooking and eating methods of whale steak are the same as those of ordinary steak. It feels a little more fishy than steak! In addition, halibut tastes good too.

This coffee shop is relatively small, with a nice environment and great taste.

We went to the Inuit Cafe after recommendations from our hotel and we were not disappointed. We ate delicious local fish, Halibut salad with caviar served with an amazing curry sauce and we also tried Whale meat which was surprisingly delicious. The staff were so welcoming and warm and the food service was perfect. A window seat offers stunning views of the surrounding town of Ilulissat. The bar offer delicious cocktails and everything is on the expensive side as it is everywhere in Greenland because it is so remote.

Great place to be for lunch or dinner. We were located not to far from this nice comfy Cafe'. Was easy to get there within 5min walk for us. The chicken curry I ate most of the time while there. The owner prepared it like in Asia. She added extra spicy, when I asked for and it was great. With my Asian living background I can say it tastes as in Asia, fantastic. Of course I tried also some other food, which was as well fantastic. I highly can recommend this cafe'. We preferred it to all other restaurants we have tried in Ilulissat. For sure will go back when we go to Ilulissat next year. For me a must to get the great chicken curry, just love it. Thanks so much :)

The place is not crowded, the price is quite affordable, and the boss is very patient. Highly recommended!!
