Jian'ou is an ancient city with a history of nearly 2,000 years, but many people may not know the origin of this ancient city. Jian'ou was called Jianzhou at that time, and Fujian Province was named after the first characters of Fuzhou and Jianzhou. The last emperor of Jianzhou was Wang Yanzheng, the eleventh son of Wang Shenzhi, the King of Min. He destroyed the country three years after he became emperor, so it was a capital in the Five Dynasties. Jijiuling in Fuzhou was renamed to commemorate Zhan Wen, an official who served as Jijiuling in the Min Kingdom of the Five Dynasties. Zhan Wen served Wang Yanhan, the second King of Min, and served as the Imperial Censor and Jijiuling in the Imperial College.
