Striking scenery, clear waters next to golden shores, traditional Pelion architecture, rugged natural landscapes and pure island vibes, these are what Skopelos is all about. The greenery will surely fascinate you as most of the island is covered by pine forests. It is part of the Sporades and has three ports: Skopelos, Agnotas and Glossa. Its ancient Greek name was Peparitos, the son of Dionysus and Ariadne, who is believed to be the first inhabitant of the island, while its name today was given in a text by Ptolemy in the 2nd century AD.
Skopelos&rsquo; strongest cards are its stunning beaches, where pine trees complement the turquoise waters, and its mesmerizing local cuisine. If you&rsquo;ve been to the island, you&rsquo;ll know that no one can resist their nationally famous strifti (twisted puff pastry) cheese pies.

Stafylos is one of the popular beaches on the island, less than 10 minutes&#39; drive from the town of Skopelos (Chora). It is located on the south side of the island and is the closest beach to Chora. This attractive spot has deep blue, clear waters and is rarely hit by strong winds, making it ideal for families with children and for tourists looking for a quality beach with amenities to spend the day. Stafylos has a beach bar, sunbeds and umbrellas, and lifeguards.
The scenery is picturesque, with pine trees extending all the way to the clear waters. Visitors who plan to take the bus to the beach need to walk about half a kilometer from the bus stop on the main road.
Kastanika
Stani is a famous and busy beach with a Hollywood atmosphere, and its beautiful turquoise waters were featured in the movie &quot;Mamma Mia&quot;. This sun-drenched sandy beach is 21 kilometers from Skopelos Town and is close to Milia, another famous beach on the island. Although the last section of the road to the beach is not paved, Kastani is still easily accessible by car and offers free parking for visitors.

Panormos is famous for its wide windproof pebble beach and the ancient Acropolis walls that can still be seen on Mount Paleokastro. It is 18 kilometers away from Chora.
