Gibbys

Last time I came to Gibbys and ordered Beef Wellington, the waiter heard it as medium well and the meat was very hard and unpalatable. This time I asked him to order it again and try it again, but it still tasted bad [sad face] However, Gibbys' salad was ok and the lamb chops were good as always. ​

This western restaurant is located in the Old Town of Montreal, which is the city center, close to the city hall. It is decorated in an antique style. I ordered some simple snacks such as wide cream noodles, which tasted very good.

The service was great and the food was excellent. If you are not a big eater; I would recommend sharing a dish. My friend and I both had the steak and we couldn't finish it, we should have ordered one to share. If you are planning a visit to Montreal and want to go to Gibby's, I would highly recommend making a reservation at least a week (7 days) in advance; they book up quickly.

The service was amazing: the servants, the hosts, the waiters - just amazing, can't say enough!! The attention to detail was impeccable and the food was very, very good. We had the pepper steak, rack of lamb, salmon, and filet mignonette. Everything was cooked to perfection. We all had cocktails before the meal and a bottle of wine with our main courses. The staff brought us a beautiful cake to celebrate our special moment (very delicious)...even the coffee afterwards was perfect. The main courses came with bread, pickles, salad and vegetables (unlike most steakhouses in the US). All agreed that the prices were very, very reasonable. Incredible experience.

There is a seafood restaurant in Montreal with a good reputation, called Gibbys, where the average price per person is about $50, which is a good value for money. The baked lobster here is especially delicious, my favorite, and the steak is fried tender and has blood streaks.

Gibbys is a time-honored seafood restaurant. The oysters here are some of the freshest and most delicious oysters I have ever eaten. They are very tender and juicy, and I can say that they are very satisfying to eat.
