Restaurant Calva

Food was amazing and beautifully presented but certainly not a case of style over substance - the ingredients and flavours come first.Service was attentive without being invasive. Top marks for the young man who looked after us that evening - he told us when we were leaving it was his first day; something which wasn’t apparent for a moment during the entire evening.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Calva and our experience was exceptional.The staff at Calva deserves special commendation for their impeccable service and genuine friendliness. It's clear that the team takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for their guests. What truly stood out and added a personal touch to our evening was when the chef himself presented some of the dishes. It not only showcased the passion behind the creations, but also made us feel like valued guests in their culinary journey. At the end of the evening the chef personally saw us out and we could exchange a few friendly words. This unexpected touch added an extra layer of warmth to an already fantastic dining experience.

Calva is a truly unique dining experience and one that needs to be experienced with an open mind and at least three hours. The menu is driven by what's fresh, in season and available, and may not be one that's duplicated more than once. The chef and his staff were all wonderful and very involved in what was one of the best dining experiences any of us have ever had anywhere.

We went to calva the second time, this time after the renovation. Floor, doors toilets en some adaption in the kitchen have been done.Calva is situated in a nice street in Nootdorp next to the church, there is free parking on the other side of a small bridge.When you reserve the chef de cuisine will call you upfront asking for allergies or wishes.Upon arrival you are warmly welcomed by the lady of the house with a bright Smile.The menu incl starters are excellent quality and taste. There is a good collection of wines.Although the restaurant was fully booked it's not noisy and there is enough space between the tables.In our opinion this restaurant belongs to the top ones and it's definitely worth a visit.We will come back for sure.

What an experience! Food is really to die for and the accompanying wines were interesting. Great service and very nice atmosphere.
