Shang Palace

The location of this Xiang Palace is really great. It is right next to the local landmark, the Eiffel Tower, and it only takes about ten minutes to walk there. This restaurant also serves authentic Chinese food.

Right next to the Eiffel Tower, it is one of the oldest Cantonese restaurants in Paris. The food is pretty good and it is a place for high-end banquets. The glutinous rice and sweet and sour pork are both delicious.

If you like Cantonese dim sum and Cantonese cuisine, Xiang Palace is a restaurant worth recommending and tasting. The taste is very authentic, and there is no difference from the Cantonese cuisine we had in Guangzhou. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is also very good.

Because we were staying at Shangri-La, the client invited us to Shang Palace for dinner. Later, we discussed privately and thought that the client was just taking advantage of us to have a luxurious Chinese meal. Haha, after all, this is the only Michelin Chinese restaurant in Paris, and it is indeed expensive. I have eaten at several Shang Palaces, and this one in Paris is relatively unique in the consistent traditional Chinese style. Of course, it is unique. In Asia, it is rare to see blond and blue-eyed French handsome men wearing Chinese small stand-up collar work clothes, copying a few limited and stiff Chinese sentences to serve dishes, which is also a great sight. I think a big reason why Shang Palace can enter Michelin is that it maintains the good taste of Chinese food. To be honest, it is very authentic, except for the roast duck. In fact, the roast duck is not bad, but the starting point in China is too high, haha. The price is indeed expensive, 2,000 yuan per person. But I still feel very comfortable eating it. After all, Chinese food is considered a relatively high level for business banquets here, but why do I still want to try the local Western food. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Shang Palace is the only Chinese restaurant in Paris with one Michelin star. I am never disappointed every time I come here. Four people spent nearly 1,000 Euros. There are many ordinary dishes that I am too lazy to take pictures of. Peking duck is my favorite. Now there is a 30% discount in the evening, which is quite cost-effective.

Shang Palace is one of the few high-end Chinese restaurants in Paris. When I went there, the two-star chef from Kowloon was temporarily stationed in Paris. I felt that I spent one star's money to eat at the level of two stars! I think the taste of Shang Palace is not bad, the portion is very large, and I ate until I leaned against the wall after a set. But the environment is slightly lacking: the whole restaurant has a strong sense of enclosure, and it is a great pity that there is no natural light. It feels like eating in a dim little restaurant. I hope that one day the hotel can make more improvements in decoration. The service is quite good.

There were 8 of us in the group, and we opened a round table that was not a round table. When Chinese people eat, it is lively when there are many people, but foreigners feel quite quiet even if there are many people. What a difference! But we also tried to be quiet and not disturb others. Then we finished eating several dishes and couldn't put them down, so we put them together. Someone said he wanted to take them away, and we said that foreigners would look down on us, but in fact they didn't.

Xiang Palace is a local Chinese restaurant that was rated as a Michelin two-star restaurant by a food magazine. It serves Cantonese cuisine, so the taste is light. I recommend the rice noodle rolls, wonton noodles, and crystal shrimp dumplings.
