Chamois Bar & Grill

I really like the environment of Chamois Bar & Grill. The bar here is very modern. No wonder it is so popular among young people. It has a rich variety of dishes, rich flavors, exquisite dishes, and large portions.

We stayed at the Mount Cook Motel. We didn't have enough food with us. We only had lunch but no dinner. We decided to go to the hotel to eat. We arrived at the restaurant at 7 o'clock. There were quite a lot of tourists. There were no seats near the window. We quickly chose a seat. We ordered at the bar. There was no menu. We looked at the one posted on the wall. If it weren't for the English menu and the foreign waiters, we would feel like we were in a mainland fast food restaurant. Oh, the style of MC and KFC. We ordered the dishes, took the pager, poured hot water and talked about the wonderful Tasman hike. Looking at the beautiful scenery outside the window... Why haven't the dishes been served yet? Let's continue to talk about tomorrow's Hooker Valley hike... Wait, we are not here to talk about the scenery. The business is to eat, eat, eat, why haven't you come yet! Okay, let's talk about the little blue penguin... Finally, the pager flashed a cute light and sang happily. I've heard this several times. This time it's real. It's ours. Hurry up and go to the collection window to take it. You can see the Lao Gan Ma in the self-service seasoning area. I'll come to comfort you later. Let's get to the point. The steak is too salty, the beef pie is too hard (overcooked), and the pizza is also salty and overcooked. The fried fish is still decent. Thumbs up! I recommend the grilled fish for children's meals. The portion is large enough, there are many side dishes, and it's cheap and good! Okay, eat and sleep. Where should I go for delicious food tomorrow?

I met some cool people at the hostel I was staying at. Those were backpackers and they suggested I should eat at 'Cook's' which is a restaurant connected to backpackers. I had the ribs and fries and they were quite possibly the best ribs I have ever had in my life! With fries and salad it was only $22! I recommend this to anyone and will definitely be back if I'm ever in Mt. Cook again.

The food and service were terrible - it's an open kitchen so everyone can see what's going on in the kitchen, but they never finish all the orders at the same time and the food sits there and gets cold. They called the wrong number several times and were confused every time someone asked them what they wanted. There were four people in the kitchen - they didn't take orders, serve food or clean up, they just cooked the food. The pizza looked like it came straight from the fridge. It was really shocking.

The beef and potato burger here is highly recommended.
