Il Capriccio

We picked this restaurant as we wanted to have an Italian fine dining experience whilst on holiday in Vieste. We chose the 6 course chef’s choice taster menu so it was a complete surprise what we got. In fact with the amuse bouche, breads and petit fours it was more like 9 courses. I enjoyed the ceviche however the oysters and raw shellfish was not to my taste. Loved the risotto with mixed shellfish, and the pasta with sea urchin. The service was very good and our waiter spoke good English. It was great value for money and a memorable meal during our stay in Vieste.

We could not have been more pleased with our evening at this restaurant. The service is top notch, and the food was one of the most well executed we’ve enjoyed in Italy. The waiter began by presenting us an iced tray of four fish choices and then suggested was to be a unique culinary high. We were served three dishes all incorporating the snapper of our choice, and each preparation was different, allowing us to appreciate the subtle differences of flavor and the wonderfully creative skills of the chef. A carpaccio with caramelizar onion, a pasta with cooked and raw fish, and at the end a roasted, tender fillet of our snapper served atop a purée of potatoes and porcinis. No sauces to mask the exquisite flavors—just a truly fresh, fantastic ultimate foodie feast. Mile grazie!!

A beautiful setting and interesting menu of good quality spoilt by poor service. Attentive and pleasant staff let down by very slow and presumably disorganized kitchen. Could easily elevate to an excellent experience.

Small menu, good food. It wasn't possible to order fish off the menu though :(

Food was very good but lacked atmosphere as it was very quiet.
