Fujairah Historic Fort

The Fujairah Fort was built in 1670 and was badly damaged by the British in the early 20th century. It is considered to be the oldest fort in the UAE, a building with defensive functions and the home of the ruler. Fujairah is a mud-brick building consisting of three main parts, several halls, a square castle and two round castles. The fort has been rebuilt. For centuries, it was a rare stone building on the coast of Fujairah. It is located on a hill, on the edge of a garden, and the remnants of the Fujairah fort are surrounded by town houses.
