I went to Buddy Guy's when I was in my third week of visiting Chicago, and it was the night I fell in love with the blues. This place is legendary every night of the week. It is one of the most popular blues clubs in town, and what I liked best about this place (other than Pistol Pete's epic set) was the decor and all the Buddy Guy memorabilia around. It's like a museum. The food was good and inexpensive, and you can't go wrong with 3.50 tall boys of Pabst and entrance was only $10. I loved my plate of fried okra. A must-go anytime you are passing through Chicago!

    Saw Buddy Guy himself here! It is a wonderful Blues destination. Very good music. The immediate neighborhood is just OK, not too much around except the Hilton, so be careful walking at night unless on Michigan Ave. It is not a bad neighborhood, just feels a bit isolated. Perhaps just used to all the crowds! The music is terrific and worth visiting.

    What's so great about Buddy Guy's is that even though it's near tourist hotels and sees its fair share of out-of-towners, the musicians on stage are the real deal. For authentic Chicago-style electric blues, this is always my top recommendation.
