Selfoss Waterfall Review

Iceland is a black sand beach, magical end times. Iceland is located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in the Americas and continental Europe, and the black sand beach is at the southernmost end of Iceland. From 862 Pool Road, you can drive to the Daiti Falls parking lot near the waterfall, you can walk 800 meters to Daiti Falls, and there are also trails to walk 700 meters to selfoss Falls, and see two waterfalls at a time.

Dettifoss is the largest waterfall in Europe, 100 meters wide and 44 meters high. It is located in the valley and produces a natural basalt canyon based on the waterfall. Because the waterfall area is mainly rock formations, the grass is not born. Dettifoss has two parking lots, the west parking lot is by Highway 862 and the east parking lot is by Highway 864. Highway 862 is a newly paved asphalt road, while Highway 864 is a nearly 30 km dirt road. The parking lot has a simple bathroom (very dirty) and it is about 1 km from the trail to the Daiti Falls. Dettifoss and Selfoss belong to the same river Jökulsá Fjöllum River (the second longest river in Iceland), which continues to trace its origins, both from the Dyngjujökull glacier on the northern edge of the Vatnajökull Glacier, Iceland's largest ice sheet, and the waterfall is divided into large and small decimal channels by basalt. The drop of the selforth falls is only 11 meters, and the water volume is only a quarter of the dette waterfall, but I especially like the black basalt around the waterfall, which is a stark contrast to the snow.
