Order the chicken wings for an appetizer and the Mango Prawn Panang Curry for a main dish.
Just brilliant. Reasonable price. Large portions. Really delicious.
My pad thai only had 3 prawns in it. It was also more saucy than I'm used to.
My wife and another couple from Houston are here Saturday night (Halloween) at about 6, right before the chief got. Phoned ahead 39 minutes and for a great reservation table in the front not next to the window but with a nice view nonetheless. Started with Deep Fried Pumpkin which I had never had before and it was delicious. We also had Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay. Two $15/bottles of decent screw top red Cabernet Savingion's from Sonoma was a bargin. I had the fried fish in Tamarind sauce which was good but the sauce was a little heavy. My wife had Pad Thai Tofu which I tasted and was good. I don't recall the other orders but it was a good meal for a reasonable price. The streets were crazy being Halloween right on Haight St. Wish I could erase a couple mental pictures.
Omg! Lemon chicken, beef praram & Tom kha soup are amazing!!!
The place doesn't look like much outside, but it is full of personality and great food inside. My husband and I were in San Francisco as part of a family vacation with 8 other people - we had never eaten thai food. The food and the service was amazing. Lots of choices, even for your usual steak & potatoes type of eater. We sat upstairs and it was cozy and adorable. Highly recommended.
Corncake is delicious
My favorite here is the curry noodle soup - creamy coconut with noodles and a hint of delicious lemony spice!! The service is sort of slow though. Meh o well.
Vegans & Vegetarians: They can make curries without fish sauce, unlike King of Thai down the street.
Perfectly hidden from the madness that is the Haight down below. For those in the know.
