Mihwangsa Temple

Meihuang Temple was built in the 8th year of King Jingdeok of Silla (AD 749). At dusk, the setting sun shines obliquely, and the scenery of Meihuang Temple, which is hidden between the gorgeous West Sea and Damo Mountain, is even more beautiful, attracting countless tourists to visit. The Meihuang Temple is of moderate size, located on the green foothills, sitting at the front of the Daxiong Hall, you can feel a kind of leisurely tranquility. The stone pillars of the Daxiong Hall are carved with turtles, crabs and other marine life patterns, which is a unique landscape of Meihuang Temple. Meihuang Temple has the National Treasure No. 1342 Hanging Buddha, which is a kind of Buddha statue used to pray for rain in ancient times. On the walls and ceilings of the Daxiong Palace and Yingzhen Palace are 18th-century murals. Visitors can also enjoy the relics, Arhats, Boys, and the statues of the generals of the gods in Yingzhen Palace and Hades Palace.
