The Bear Creek Weir was an unexpectedly enjoyable stop for me on our trip to Alaska. It was really neat to see the salmon swimming upstream and jumping to try to advance. We saw multiple tour groups s...
Timing is everything
Saw more salmon schooled up here than anywhere else on our trip to Alaska. Unfortunately, no bears for us at the bear creek weir. Neat little area though.

Great spot to see salmon right off the road. With an easy trail to walk around and explore the forest.
worth the quick stop
This is a real quick stop ... it was cool to watch the chum salmon trying to jump up and fight their way up... and it was cool to go across the street and see the parking lot of fish in the river all ...

Long watching on the big walk is really nice! Long where the eye reaches, absolutely worth seeing!
