I'm going to go when the construction is over.

This Iwaki Heijo Honmaru site is located in the northwest area from Iwaki Station on the JR Joban Line. It is a short walk from the station. It will be a park with Tangozawa, a moat on the north side of Honmaru. The site of Honmaru is currently under construction and cannot be entered. There are some stone walls near the middle gate.
I was under construction and I couldn't get inside.

When I got a history map of Iwakidaira at the tourist information center, a female person in charge said that the site of the main enclosure was not privately owned and became a city owned land because it was under construction and could not be entered. When I asked if I could see anything, I was told that I could see a stone wall. When I left the north exit of Iwaki Station and went to the left side relying on the map without seeing the display board of the Honmaru site on the right side, it was a steep slope from the middle. I arrived at the Otemon side, but the entrance gate was closed and I only looked inside through the gap. Then nearby fine ...
Visited when visiting Iwaki City, using your free time. Run up a steep slope from JR Iwaki Station and arrive through a residential area. It was a little disappointing, but on the way back, the situation around JR Iwaki Station seen from a high place was impressive.
There is a site of iwaki Heijo Castle just off the north exit of iwaki station.

Iwaki Heijo Castle Ruins is a small hill on your left immediately after exiting the north exit of JR Iwaki Station. If you go up the slope, you will see a stone wall in a residential area. If you go further up, you will find the site of Honmaru. Currently, the site of the Honmaru is privately owned and is open only when events are held. The gate was open at the time of my visit, and I was able to visit the former temporary clan office, Monomioka Inari Shrine, and Shirasnakebori.
Iwaki Heijo Castle was built by Tadamasa Torii in 1603. I visited Iwaki Station in November to wait for the train time. There was a ruin of the main enclosure on a hill near the station, but I couldn't enter. The inner moat between Honmaru, Ninomaru, and Sannomaru was a park, so I was able to take a walk freely. It was a pity that I couldn't enter the remains of Honmaru.

It's honest, subtle.
