Yunfeng Dam

In August 17, we drove two cars from Dalian, passed through Dandong, and then went north along the Yalu River. We arrived in Ji'an in the evening. The next morning, we had breakfast and drove about 70 kilometers to Yunfeng Dam. Yunfeng Reservoir was spectacular. Although the road is bumpy, it is very worthwhile, and I am very happy as a Chinese! (Dalian GZJ)

Yunfeng Dam is located in the Yunfeng Lake tourist area, intercepting the upper and middle reaches of the Yalu River. The dam is a wide-split concrete gravity dam with a total length of 828 meters and a height of 105 meters. When the water level exceeds the alert line altitude of 318.75 meters, the flood gate will be lifted to discharge the flood, and each gate will discharge 900 cubic meters per second. The dam discharge is like a waterfall in Yuhu, which is spectacular. At the other end of the dam is the Yunfeng in North Korea, where the name of the Yunfeng power plant is derived from, and the houses in Yunfeng are built on the hillside, arranged in an orderly manner, clean and tidy. The houses here are all white colors, and what is more interesting is that they are not brick structures, but wooden structures. Four times a month, you can see the vast wooden rows drifting from the upstream to the reservoir, and then the North Korean workers intercept the wooden rows, folding the wooden rows, and transporting them through the old-fashioned cranes on the dam to the processing plant under the dam. The scene of the wooden rows in the river is already rare. At the end of the dam is the border post of China and North Korea, which is guarded by China's armed police border guards and 65835 troops and the Korean People's Army, with the majesty and solemnity of the border line.

They are all bungalows, very dense, the house is very simple, surrounded by vegetable fields!

The famous water conservancy project on the border between China and North Korea is also a landmark of China-North Korea friendship. The dam is tall and magnificent, intercepting the Yalu River, and the dam can be reached close to the North Korean border people and border guards.
