Since it is located just below the Kanmon Bridge, it is a view spot looking up at the Kanmon Bridge. It is a historic shrine that is said to have been built in the year ２００, which is famous for the Wafukari Shinto ritual held every year on the New Year's Day. Also, because the Kanmon Strait is the narrowest place, it is also a good place to watch the current flowing like a river in front of you and the ships slowly passing by while resisting the flow.

I went to Wafukari Shrine at the foot of the Kanmon Strait on Saturdays and Sundays after the New Year holidays in January. It's a small shrine by the sea, but it's a good place to see the Kanmon Strait from below. There is no parking lot in the shrine, so it is convenient because you can walk to the Wafukari parking lot in front of you.
