It is near Kyoto Station, about a 20-minute walk, and near Nishi Honganji Temple. It is also a Western-style building built in the Meiji era and is the location of the NHK taiga drama "Idaten".
It was one of the retro buildings that stands adjacent to Nishi Honganji Temple. In front of the gate, I could see Western-style architecture and grasp the image of the time of architecture. However, it was difficult for other people to enter because it was on the school grounds, so I decided to look at it from a distance.
I entered the university premises from Nishi Honganji Temple and visited each building including the main building. All of them are valuable buildings with only important cultural properties. There is also a pseudo-hoju at the main gate, which is also designated as an important cultural property. The main building is a building in the early Meiji period that utilized the characteristics of both Japanese and Western styles, which is said to be a pseudo-Western style building.
Adjacent to the south side of the Karamon gate of Nishi Honganji Temple, Ryukoku University Omiya Gakusha was built. This retro and nice building was completed in 1879. The outsiders were forced to enter the hall 々 and the premises, so I saw the beautiful figure from the front of the gate. At first glance, it looks like an old Western-style building made of stone, but it seems that it is a "pseudo-Western-style building" made of stones attached to a wooden building.
