The site of the home of mineyoshi kikuya where Shintaro Nakaoka stayed
Original Text
In 1861, Shintaro Nakaoka joined the Tosa Kinko Party formed by Mizuyama Takeichi. In 1863, when the Tosa Kinko Party was suppressed, he left the domain and went to Choshu and played an active role as the center of the Sonno joi movement. He worked with Ryoma Sakamoto to conclude the Satsucho Alliance, and in 1866 (Keio 2), the Alliance was realized. In the same year, he organized the land reinforcements (intelligence agencies and troops) to become the captain, and since then he will work with the aim of overthrowing the curtain by force. The residence in Kyoto is as close as the soy sauce shop "Omiya" where two people were assassinated ...
Shintaro Nakaoka, who was active in the formation of the Satsucho Alliance with Ryoma Sakamoto, was in a place called Hayashi Kikuya, a Tosa domain goyosho. It is also close to the assassinated Omiya. Currently, there is only a stone monument, there is no guide, and it is difficult to visit because there are many customers in and out of the cafe.
Only the stone monument on the first floor of the building on the east side, which was a little north of Shijo, was built on Kawaramachi-dori, but it was difficult to find because the stone monument was not large and there were many people. However, it was maintained, such as a white stone under the stone monument.

There was a stone monument written as "Shintaro Nakaoka's residence site" near the Shijo Kawaramachi intersection. It stands quietly on the streets of the downtown area and is likely to be overlooked. Shintaro Nakaoka, a priest of Tosa who ran east and west to conclude the Satsucho Alliance with Ryoma Sakamoto. This stone marker shows the remains of the Tosa Domain Goyosho Hayashi Kikuya (Yasube Kano's house), which Nakaoka had taken after leaving the domain. Omiya, where two people were assassinated, is also nearby.
A little far, Shintaro Nakaoka's residence monument

Shintaro Nakaoka lived here for a while, but now there is a stone monument and an explanation board. Shintaro Nakaoka is the captain of the land reinforcements from the Tosa clan, but it is the place where the Shobayashi Kikuya, a Tosa clan's governing service, who had been living after leaving the domain. There is also a Tosa clan residence near here, and it seems that Ryoma Sakamoto also lived. By the way, the place of distress is on the west side of the same Kawaramachi Dori street.
