The Hokkaido Literature Museum was established in 1995. It is the first comprehensive literature museum in Hokkaido. It displays the biographical profiles and works of writers, poets and scholars of Hokkaido origin, as well as some manuscripts, which are placed in one-compartment drawers and pressed flat with glass plates. The most famous is Watanabe Chunyi, who specially read his manuscript, which is a passage of Paradise Lost. He can't understand a word or take pictures, but it's really a classic work to pay tribute to him (don't misunderstand, he's still alive).
