This is the core of the old palace. Understandably it is popular with tourists. Quite a lot of the palace's structure remains, although it is not clear how much has ben restored. Very impressive

This is the main sight to see in Split. You really need a guide to understand the history and what everything means. Otherwise, you are just looking at rocks.
We were part of a Riviera group and our guide took us to the palace which was wonderful. We went round the large basement and up into the town square above. The whole place is mind blowing!
