Cockatoo Island

An island 🏝️ in the heart of Sydney where there is an old prison where convicts lived and worked in the past

We visited Sapporo Island for a day trip. It is easy to walk around and enjoy the many historical sites against a stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour. There are restaurants on the island, which is convenient. You can also bring your own picnic and enjoy it in the part of the island’s own private selection. You can play chess on a giant board. We took the ferry from Wentworth Point (Wentworth Point) and it added another day - it was a comfortable and amazing ferry ride. Overall, a great day

A 20-minute walk from the central pier to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fengtouyu Island. Make sure you collect a map from the visitor center next to the pier where the ferry stops and plans your tour, and choose an audio guide if you wish. Enjoy the views of the bridge while strolling. Two cafes and a large number of amenities offer easy wheelchair access to parts of the island, but there are steep steps up/down to get the best hike. The criminal law "criminal zone" shows how difficult the regime is to deal with criminals in the early stages of settlement. For more than 100 years, the island has been an industrial powerhouse and is Australia's first naval shipyard and major shipbuilding and maintenance facilities, as illustrated by many photos of the Villa de Villuera (Biloela House). There are now several holiday homes and good camping facilities on the island. For those interested in industrial archaeology and/or criminal colonial history, it is worth a visit for at least half a day, which is a must.

From circularquay by boat, two stops, 20 minutes. The island is mainly a shipyard workshop and prison. There is a lot of rock in the middle of the island, so several tunnels have been excavated. On the rock, there are factory buildings and prisons. Because it's high and has a good view, you can see the city, including the Sydney Bridge and the Tower of Sydney, etc.

Cockatoo Island, a small island listed as a World Heritage Site, is accessible from City by ferry. Originally a shipyard factory during World War II, the island is now a good place for camping. Long tunnels, empty factories, mottled appliances, have a sense of history.

Corktu Island is an island overseas in Sydney with a very beautiful scenery. The terrain on the island is relatively flat, with large beaches and lawns. It is also a holy place for surfing and diving. The beach is very comfortable, the sand is soft, and the sun is absolutely comfortable.

cockatoo island, very close to the Sydney Bridge, was once the first naval shipyard of the Royal Australian Navy.
