As lumbering land mammals, we humans can but imagine the freedom experienced by creatures who call the oceans home. Some 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water. The oceans remain the last great frontier of Earthly adventure. With new species to discover and countless unexplored regions, let’s take a journey beneath the waves. As mere visitors to the underwater realms, diving affords us a modicum of understanding this part of our great blue planet. Here we will consider some of the world’s best diving locations. For the vast majority of people, diving is both easiest and most enjoyable in the rich tropical waters circling the globe at the equator. Vast coral reefs shelter mesmerizing life forms, ones whose colors and numbers astound. These are the world’s best diving locations.

Australia, the Land Down Under, is a vast continent full of rich biodiversity, incredible culture, and untamed wilderness. The great Australian Outback is the stuff of legend. A vast expanse of desert and grasslands stretching to the horizon. Running along the country’s eastern coast is the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef system. Sydney Harbor is recognizable the world over for the famed Opera House and the New Years fireworks display. A country flush with natural resources, Australia is a welcoming destination where travelers can find just about anything.

I am a frequent visitor to the Hunter, and I know a convenient and a satisfying staycation in the Hunter Valley comes down to the location of your accommodation. With this in mind, I stayed at Chateau Elan The Vintage Golf Course in Pokolbin (A.k.a the centre of the Hunter Valley). We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment at Chateau Elan, it was fitted out with a full kitchen, fireplace and spa overlooking the lush green golf course. When it comes to convenience, breakfast is only a short and enjoyable walk across the picturesque gold course. Set overlooking the 18th green, we knew we were in for a treat!   7 Oct 2020
