The architecture combines Florentine and Turkish styles. It is now the Egyptian State Guesthouse. Montazah Palace was a summer resort for the royal family before 1952. Now the beach is open to tourists and anglers, and the palace is not open to the public.
Montazah Palace Park is the best green place in Alexandria, with a large area. This is a good place for Egyptian families to go out for picnics, and it is also a romantic choice for couples to fall in love.β

The surrounding area is a bit bleak, but the tombs themselves are very well maintained and have only recently been discovered - by a donkey!!!! Take a local guide with you to get more historical detail.β
