Beach Hotels in West Coast, New Zealand

Location was decent for a small town, with a mini mart nearby and several dining options around. The staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel belongs to the typical Holiday Park. There is a public kitchen, bathroom and shower room. It is a bit cold in winter, but the heating is very good. We had been advised by a relative that this hotel on the beach was worth staying at. We had a deluxe room up on the hill across the main road so we were not actually on the beach. However the view of the ocean was fantastic particularly in the stormy weather. Due to the weather we had to drive down to the restaurant for breakfast. Restaurant fully booked out by tour groups for dinner but the tavern about 1.5km down the road saw us right for a meal. The complex seemed to have several different standards of rooms and I think ours was the best.

The room is really clean. It was newly renovated during our 2025 stay. with all the fire station items, it really make our stay interesting. One of a kind indeed.

Very simple lodge, good to get your head down before activities the next day. Shared Kitchen had everything you need to cook and the shared bathroom and showers were clean.
