The car was in new condition. The pick-up location wasn't close, but there was a private car to pick me up. I was supposed to pick it up in the afternoon, but my flight was delayed until 6pm. I took photos of the car when I picked it up, but when I returned it, the rental company found scratches on the front underbody and required a 40,000 yen compensation. They recommended taking photos of the underbody when I picked it up, and the insurance company eventually compensated me.
