Eerie Ashburnham Ghost Walk (West) | corner of Driscoll Terrace and Hunter Street East
Oct 23, 2025 (UTC-4)
Peterborough
Our Eerie Ashburnham Ghost Walk: West Side Stories weaves the ghost stories surrounding some of Ashburnham's oldest buildings with the history behind the buildings themselves (and the people who occupied them). You'll learn about the 1916 fire at Quaker Oats and how it may be connected to the ghostly apparitions spotted by employees, the royal family member who almost put Engelburn House on the map, and the spirits - both tangible and intangible - that occupy the house of former brewmaster Henry Calcutt.
This is a walking tour that covers several blocks in Ashburnham. The tour sticks to the main sidewalks and is on primarily flat ground, but may not be accessible to everyone. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather, as the tour will run rain or shine.
Please note that this tour covers difficult and sensitive material and may not be appropriate for everyone. If you have any questions about accessibility or the content of this tour, please email us at admin@trentvalleyarchives.com or call us at 705-745-4404.
The tour begins at the parkette at the corner of Driscoll Terrace and Hunter Street East. Please arrive at the meeting spot 5-10 minutes before the start of the tour with either a printout or screenshot of your ticket to show the tour guide.

Idioteque: The Bends 30th Anniversary Radiohead Tribute | Gordon Best Theatre
Jun 7, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Peterborough
IDIOTEQUE
returns to Peterborough to perform Radiohead’s
THE BENDS
in its entirety! Plus a whole lot more...
Radiohead’s classic 1995 album, THE BENDS turns 30 this year, and we need to celebrate! Besides (obviously) Creep, it was really The Bends that launched the band into wider public awareness, with huge hits like Just, Fake Plastic Trees, High And Dry, and Street Spirit. The band emerged as a more highly developed oddball art rock superpower, tapping into feelings of disillusionment, anti-consumerism, and frustration, while weaving them into inviting and powerful song arrangements, at once beautiful and hostile.
Now, as their fourth full-album tribute project,
IDIOTEQUE
will perform the entirety of The Bends, note-for-note, top-to-bottom. Plus a whole opening set of favourites from the rest of Radiohead’s vast catalogue, b-sides, and rarities. Don't miss this one!
---------------
IDIOTEQUE
Founded in 2010, Toronto’s best and busiest musicians dare to take on Radiohead’s most challenging material and all the classic hits, accurately recreating true-to-recorded versions, spanning ALL of Radiohead’s studio albums, plus some B-sides, rarities, and Radiohead side projects.
Selling out the majority of shows they play, Idioteque blows audiences away with their high-energy performances, attention to detail, and passion for the music.
Idioteque has presented several special projects, including entire album performances on their significant anniversaries, epic tributes to the 90’s “MTV Unplugged” series, featuring all-acoustic arrangements alongside string quartet, horns, and much more!!
Don Scott – lead vocals, guitar
Jessica Stuart – guitar, vocals
Charles Tilden – guitar, vocals
Teri Parker – keyboards
Liam Smith – bass
Ernesto Cervini – drums, vocals

Staging Disability: A Playwright's Perspective, with Emil Sher | Bagnani Hall
May 4, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Peterborough
New Stages Theatre presents:
Staging Disability: A Playwright's Perspective
Walker Brown was born with “an impossibly rare genetic mutation,ˮ his father Ian writes on the first page of his beautiful memoir,
The Boy in the Moon
. “He is globally delayed and canʼt speak.ˮ Years later, when Brown saw his memoir transformed into a stage play, he described it as “an untraditional play that is also a public dialogue about…raising not just a disabled child, but any child. I cried when our stage son finally moved to a group home, leaving our house a cave of stillness.ˮ
Join playwright Emil Sher as he shares his journey in adapting
The Boy in the Moon
for the stage
. How do you give voice to an on-stage character who is front-and-centre but never seen? What fueled the decision to extend Walkerʼs world on stage to include his mother and his sister? Does a playwrightʼs toolbox have what is needed to convey unknowable pain? What concerns surfaced in conversations about integrating photographs of Walker into the landscape of the play? Where do disability and dramatic license intersect?
Emil Sher has given this unique presentation across the country, but never before in Peterborough. Please join us!
About the Playwright
Emil Sher’s wide-ranging works for the stage, page and screen and print have been honoured at home and internationally and translated into French, Italian, Hebrew, Slovak, Russian, Japanese, Turkish and Danish.
Emil’s stage work for the young and the once-were-young include
Mourning Dove, Bluenose
,
Derailed
and
Beneath the Banyan Tree.
“St. Louis was a better place simply because this play was happening here,” a critic wrote of the U.S. premiere of
Hana’s Suitcase
, a celebrated adaptation of the beloved Holocaust book by Karen Levine.
His stage adaptation of Ian Brown's
The Boy in the Moon
was a Dora Mavor Moore Award finalist for Outstanding New Play. The Toronto premiere at Crow’s Theatre was honoured as one of the Top Ten Productions of 2018 by
The Globe and Mail,
and selected by former critic Robert Cushman as one of his Personal Bests from a Decade of Theatre (2010-2019).
Emil is currently adapting
By Chance Alone
, Max Eisen’s acclaimed memoir, for Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, where he was playwright in residence.
The Book of Ashes
, inspired by an Iraqi librarian who saved over 30,000 books from destruction during the Iraq War, was staged in April by Halifax Theatre for Young People. Emil co-wrote, with director Tasha Hubbard, the screenplay for
Birth of a Family
, a feature film about the Sixties Scoop that will be released this fall.
Tickets
Staging Disability
is a "pay what you can" presentation event, with options ranging from $0 to $20. Please reserve your tickets in advance, only 50 seats are available.
2 pm, Sun May 4, 2025 at Bagnani Hall, Traill College

Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training - Tier 2 | Peterborough

Peterborough
Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training - Tier 2
Welcome to the
Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training - Tier 2
. This one day in-person event is designed to provide essential training on Tier 2 of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in this important area. Register now to secure your spot. This is one of our earlier sessions, so it is pay what you feel and know that you are helping trainers and lived experience experts develop their skills training in front of an audience.
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death shone a light on the need for health and social care staff to have better training. The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a statutory requirement that regulated service providers must ensure their staff receive learning disability and autism training appropriate to their role.
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is the standardised training that was developed for this purpose and is the government's preferred and recommended training for health and social care staff.
Oliver's Training also supports the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan ambition by upskilling the wider health and care workforce to provide appropriately adjusted care for people with a learning disability and autistic people to reduce health inequality.
Together, we can prevent the many avoidable deaths like Oliver’s from happening again. The animation below aims to help staff and employers across health and social care to understand Oliver's Training and why it is so vitally important.

UNDER PRESENTS UNITEE UNDER THE BRIDGE
Sunday 4th May 2025's Under is hosted by Unitee events, founded by Radio 1 Drum ‘n’ Bass show presenter Charlie Tee is bringing a lineup with enough bass to send a shockwave through the city! She’ll be dropping her explosive style of d’n’b with her trusted MC Savvy B alongside the larger-than-life Mozey, fresh off his world headline tour; special guests Kings Of The Rollers consisting of scene figureheads Serum, Voltage, Bladerunner & Inja; Kool FM’s AMA who’ll spin everything from soulful liquid to heavy rollers; the shapeshifting, genre-bending singer-songwriter, Catching Cairo, OKO, Pinx and so many more.
Unitee under the bridge has featured the biggest drum & bass acts in the world; Sub Focus, Hedex, Bou, Dimension, Turno, K Motionz, Clipz, Lens, Vibe Chemistry, SOTA, A Little Sound, Emily Makis, Charlotte Plank to name a few.
MOZEY
Michael Hitches, known to most as 'Mozey' developed a deep love for Drum and Bass in the mid-noughties.
2020 saw Mozey truly make his mark with his track Ladykillaz - a modern day DNB classic that cemented him as a key player with an international fan base.
In the last year Mozey has played at some of the biggest venues in the UK and Europe including Printworks &Tobacco Docks in London, Belgium, Prague, Barcelona and has just come back from a headline tour of New Zealand and Australia. This tour capped off a summer full of festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, Bassfest and many more.
Mozey is a complete fan favourite, his second to none DJ sets and releases backed with social media presence has cemented him a mainstay within drum & bass!
KINGS OF THE ROLLERS
Serum, Voltage, Bladerunner & Inja have become figureheads individually but together they are much more than the sum of their parts. They are Kings Of The Rollers.
The exceptional rise of the Kings Of The Rollers collective is nothing short of remarkable. As solo artists they’ve released music across the scene’s biggest labels including Hospital Records, 31, V Recordings, Metalheadz, Ram and Low Down Deep and collected multiple awards in the process. Having collaborated extensively, it was natural they would combine to form the powerhouse they are today.
Their self-titled debut album in 2019 picking up “Best Album” at the national drum & bass awards. They followed this up in 2020 with their “Main Event EP” and remixes for Sigma and Shy FX. Performances at events like Glastonbury Festival, Boomtown Fair, SW4, Rampage and Origin Fields and their own sell out Royal Rumble parties have seen them secure their place in the future of drum & bass.
As anyone who has seen them perform will know, their sets are as unpredictable as they are explosive, switching from the foundation to the cutting edge at breakneck speed. Inja’s lightning fast reactions and uplifting lyrics provide the perfect accompaniment thanks to his ability to handle any stage from a jazz club to a major festival.
CHARLIE TEE
DJ, broadcaster, journalist and deeply proud music nerd: Charlie Tee represents everything that’s special and vital about the new wave of inclusive energy exploding in dance music culture right now.
Celebrating some of the most fundamental foundations of electronic music and its power to smash down boundaries, but doing it with an upfront, future-focused twist; award-winning Charlie is BBC Radio 1’s first ever full-time female drum & bass specialist.
This will be the fifth instalment of Charlie's Unitee event at UNDER and you can bet Charlie will be bringing that infectious energy to her sets as ever with MC Savvy B!
