Bring patio-size containers from home or choose from our own fabulous selection. You will need to pay for all of the plant material you use to create your containers at the end of the workshop and this cost will be determined by size and amount of plant material used. You may take your planters home with you on the day of your scheduled party or we will care for your container(s) for free at the retail store until the 5/17/25 pickup date. Please keep in mind that any containers left at the retail store after the 5/17/25 pickup dates will be subject to additional growing fees*.
This is your chance to enjoy planting your beautiful containers, without having to worry about any of the cleanup.
You pay for the plants you use in your container. Final cost will be determined by size and amount of plant material used and will need to be paid at the end of the workshop.
You may bring up to 2 containers.
No outside plant material allowed.
If you are going to bring your own containers from home, please empty the dirt out and give them a few swipes with a rag before bringing them to the workshop. As many as 5,000 runners and walkers take to the streets of Kalamazoo each May for the Kalamazoo Marathon & Borgess Run For The Health Of It Half Marathon which takes participants on a winding, out-and-back route through the city streets of Kalamazoo, through the campus of Borgess Medical Center and around the shores of Spring Valley Lake.The first 3.5 miles of this USATF certified course are identical to the Kalamazoo Marathon. However, when marathoners veer onto Lovell, half marathoners continue on Burdick until they meet back up with the marathon course, which they’ll follow until the finish. You will find course excitement all along the way – the Kalamazoo community comes out in force to provide runner support.Throughout the race, runners travel across paved surfaces, both on the urban city streets as well as on the paved pathways that make their way through the grounds of Spring Valley Park.

About Our Speaker:
Terri DeBoer, Meteorologist, WXMI-TV
Terri DeBoer has spent nearly four decades in the television and radio broadcast industry. She began her career in the late 1980's as a television news reporter and anchor; and eventually went back to college to become a meteorologist. Much of her career has been spent in West Michigan; first at WWMT-TV; then at WOOD-TV; and currently at WXMI-TV. Terri earned the American Meteorological Society's Television Seal of Approval; becoming the first woman in the entire state of Michigan to earn that credential. In addition to delivering West Michigan’s “wake up” weather, Terri also served as an original co-host of the daily lifestyle show, eightWest, from October 2009-September 2023.
In 2022, Terri was honored to have been inducted into the Michigan Emmy’s Silver Circle; an award presented to television professionals who have impacted the media and their communities through more than 25-years of service. She is an active community leader; serving on numerous boards and volunteering to support events and activities.
Terri has become an author, speaker, consultant and coach.
Personally, she is a wife, mother and grandmother.
