Health Innovation Pitch Party | 1237 Harding Pl
May 1, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Charlotte
Charlotte’s Health Innovation Pitch Party is a dynamic, high-energy event designed to spotlight the greater Charlotte region's growing healthtech ecosystem. This event will bring together six early-stage healthtech startups to pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of industry experts and investors. The panelists will provide critical feedback from diverse perspectives, helping founders refine both their products and their investment pitches.
Beyond the pitches, this event serves as a unique networking opportunity, bringing together key leaders in the healthtech entrepreneurial space, including founders, funders, entrepreneurial support organizations, service providers, and corporate and healthcare executives. While Charlotte hosts numerous entrepreneurial ecosystem events, this is the only one exclusively dedicated to healthtech, catering to its niche needs and sector-specific challenges.
Looking ahead to the upcoming opening of the Pearl innovation district in Charlotte, NC, Advocate Health is pleased to co-host this year’s HealthTech Pitch Party, in collaboration with Innovate Charlotte and Kepler Team. The Pearl will be a regional catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship, where startups, healthcare leaders, and innovators can come together to shape the future of healthcare.

Focus Areas for Pitches
We invite digital health innovators to build the next-game changing innovation in healthcare!
Environmental Sustainability
Healthcare’s environmental footprint is massive and messy, and we believe innovation can help turn the tide. From reducing medical waste to rethinking supply chains and energy use, the industry needs solutions tackling sustainability challenges in creative ways. Whether it’s reimagining materials, improving efficiency, or building circular solutions, healthcare needs a greener future. Step up and join the good fight!
Brain Health
Supporting brain health requires new solutions that address mental and emotional well-being across all stages of life. Innovations are needed to help young people transition from pediatric to adult mental health care, promote emotional well-being and connection for older adults, and develop culturally-responsive mental health solutions for immigrant communities. If you’re building tools or innovative models to meet these needs, this is your chance to share your vision and engage with a community committed to advancing mental health.
Clinical Trials
The way clinical trials are conducted hasn’t changed fast enough to keep up with the needs of modern medicine. From improving patient access and diversity to streamlining recruitment and data collection, there’s a huge opportunity for new ideas that could make clinical trials more efficient, inclusive, and scalable. Think you’ve got what it takes to challenge the status quo?
Care at Home
More care is moving outside of traditional hospital settings, and we want to hear from entrepreneurs shaping the future of healthcare in the home. Whether it’s remote monitoring, virtual care, home-based diagnostics, expanding access to rural areas, or new ways to support caregivers, this is a chance to share ideas and engage with others who believe in expanding access beyond the clinic.
Emerging Technologies & MedTech Innovation
We live in exciting times! We are in the midst of a medical revolution driven by breakthroughs in technology—ranging from AI, XR, and digital twins to robotics, new medical devices, and advanced imaging. Patients deserve cutting-edge innovations that have far-reaching implications for treatments, diagnostics, and delivery of care. Whether you're working on next-gen medical devices, advanced diagnostics, or game-changing software, this is your chance to connect with a forward-thinking community of healthcare innovators. Are you game?
Working on something outside these areas? Apply anyway and surprise us—we want to hear from all healthtech entrepreneurs in our region who are passionate about building the future of healthcare.
Applications close on April 10th

An Evening Extreme with Benji Hughes and Jon Lindsay | The Evening Muse
May 30, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Charlotte
An Evening Extreme with Benji Hughes and Jon Lindsay
Benji Hughes and Jon Lindsay—who go back decades to their early days in Charlotte, NC—are currently touring as a duo combining two singular talents into one unforgettable musical experience. With a shared history of collaboration, they bring together Hughes’ eclectic genius and Lindsay’s boundless versatility for a live show that is equal parts heart, and melodic, mordant brilliance.
An Evening Extreme with Benji Hughes and Jon Lindsay
offers fans an immersive experience—a journey through the hits and rarities of Hughes’ extensive catalog in a psychedelic cabaret setting, where Lindsay’s sparkling performances serve as both show opener and collaborator in Hughes’ set- an affair laced with comedic catharsis, and musical magic, offering a unique blend of Southern charm, indie polish, and fearless creativity.
Hughes is a genre-defying artist celebrated for his ambitious songwriting and deeply emotional resonance. His 2008 debut double album,
A Love Extreme,
is widely regarded as a cult classic, earning praise from Rolling Stone and
The New York Times
for its sprawling creativity and infectious melodies. Over the years, Hughes’ music has reached millions through its appearances in TV shows like
How I Met Your Mother
and
Eastbound & Down,
as well as co-writing credits for
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
His collaborative spirit has seen him partner with artists as varied as Jeff Bridges, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Priscilla Ahn, and he’s toured with indie icons Jenny Lewis and Jason Isbell, and performed with Jackson Browne. Hughes’ expansive catalog, including
Songs in the Key of Animals
and a stunning 2020 trilogy (
A Lover’s Extreme, Spirit Guide,
and
Another Extreme
), cements him as a beloved figure in indie music.
Lindsay, based in Savannah, Georgia, and New York, is a prolific solo artist, producer, and longtime member of Hughes’ band. A musician’s musician, Lindsay is known for his bold lyrical depth, genre-blending songwriting, and compelling, vocal-driven live performances. His music has been featured on
MTV Cribs
,
Haven
,
MSNBC
, and in commercials for brands such as CREE, Miller, Honda, and others. As the co-founder (with Caitlin Cary of Whiskeytown) of the NC Music Love Army, Lindsay has collaborated and released music with luminaries like Rhiannon Giddens, American Aquarium, Caitlin Cary, Pierce Freelon and many others. His upcoming fourth album,
Big Stage
(releasing May 16, 2025), was recorded at Eric Valentine’s Barefoot Studios in Hollywood and features horn arrangements and performances by Matt Douglas (of The Mountain Goats). Lindsay co-founded The Young Sons, producing the band’s debut album
Hearts, Inc.
