Pick up a stool, drawing board, and provided drawing materials, or bring your own sketchbook and find a spot for open drawing at the museum. All levels of experience are welcome. Cash bar. (Kemper Museum members receive two free drinks.) Open Drawing Guidelines: Attendees are allowed to bring their own sketchbooks, paper, and pencil. Otherwise, please use the materials provided by the museum.No food or beverage in the galleries.Please use only graphite pencils, colored pencils, and crayons in all areas of the museum.Markers, ink pens, charcoal, paint, watercolor, etc. are NOT allowed (nothing that is liquid-based or highly friable) in any areas of the museum.Larger drawing boards can be used in the Atrium, but please use standard or smaller size clipboards if you enter one of the galleries.Folding stools can be taken into the galleries. The 2025 KC MLK Recruiting Combine, in partnership with the Heart of America Region and the 2025 KC Martin Luther King Tournament, will be held on January 17th at the Kansas City Convention Center (Hall D) and is open to any female 8th grade and high school age female player, regardless if they are participating in the KC MLK Tournament or not. The KC MLK Recruiting Combine will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will be promoted to every NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College Volleyball program in the midwest region. 30+ Colleges in attendance annually! PLEASE NOTE - The 17th of January is within the NCAA Division I Recruiting Quiet Period, which means no DI programs are allowed to attend the Combine, but we will send the Player Information Packet to every NCAA Division I school in KS, MO, OK, AR, IA and NE! Volleyball players will be divided by position and graduation year to allow attending college coaches to efficiently evaluate them. Multiple courts will be used at the KC Convention Center, with each court having a court coach , to allow players to showcase their skills sets to the college coaches. The court coaches will put the players through volleyball drills within their specific positions, along with combining positions to illustrate group skill sets. The focus will be on position and group play, for easy evaluation by college coaches. Parents are not allowed into the Combine, per the request of the college coaches - This allows the players to focus on skills and the college coaches to focus on evaluations.
