Bike Walk Bus PAC Kick-Off | Franklin Hall
Aug 10, 2025 (UTC-4)
Washington D.C.
Join us for the official launch of
Bike Walk and Bus PAC
, a Political Action Committee dedicated to supporting local D.C. candidates in the 2026 election who champion sustainable transportation solutions. We believe that the future of our communities depends on environmentally-friendly, accessible, and efficient transportation options, and it's time to elect leaders who share that vision.
While we applaud some efforts to expand D.C.’s multimodal infrastructure, we are deeply concerned by the slow pace of implementation. From delayed bus priority corridors to incomplete bike lane networks, the city continues to fall short of what is needed. Our lives—and the health of our environment—are at stake. Without significantly increased resources and a stronger political commitment, D.C. will not meet the urgent demand for safer streets and more sustainable transportation options.
This event will be a gathering of like-minded individuals, advocates, and local leaders who are passionate about building a sustainable future through smarter transportation policies. Whether you’re an advocate for public transit, biking infrastructure, electric vehicles, or reducing transportation-related carbon emissions, this is your chance to get involved and make your voice heard.
What to Expect:
Speakers
from prominent advocates for sustainable transportation
Networking Opportunities
with fellow supporters and activists
Insights into Our Mission and Goals
for the PAC’s impact in future elections
Actionable Steps
on how you can support candidates and initiatives promoting green transportation
Refreshments
and lively conversation with people who are committed to creating a cleaner, more sustainable transportation system for all.
Together, we can build momentum and elect leaders who will prioritize the future of our planet and the well-being of our communities. Your participation will make a difference!
We hope to see you there and look forward to working together toward a more sustainable, connected future!

ABOUT THE BOOK:
In this official authorized edition from the Queen of Mystery, four mystifying criminal conundrums test the detecting skills of the unflappable Hercule Poirot.
How did a woman holding a pistol in her right hand manage to shoot herself in the left temple? What was the link between a ghost sighting and the disappearance of top secret military plans? How did the bullet that killed Sir Gervase shatter a mirror in another part of the room? And should the beautiful Valentine Chantry flee for her life from the holiday island of Rhodes?
Hercule Poirot is faced with four mystifying cases--each a miniature classic of characterization, incident, and suspense.

ABOUT
MONK AND ROBOT:
Becky Chambers' two award-winning, bestselling, beloved, and uplifting Monk and Robot stories,
A Psalm for the Wild-Built
and
A Prayer for the Crown-Shy
, together in trade paperback for the first time!
Becky Chambers' delightful, post-Utopian, Hugo Award-winning series gives us hope for the future.
It's been centuries since the robots of Panga gained self-awareness and laid down their tools; centuries since they wandered, en masse, into the wilderness, never to be seen again; centuries since they faded into myth and urban legend. One day, the life of a tea monk is upended by the arrival of a robot, there to honor the old promise of checking in. The robot cannot go back until the question of "what do people need?" is answered. But the answer to that question depends on who you ask, and how. They're going to need to ask it a
lot.
Becky Chambers' series asks: in a world where people have what they want, does having more matter?
