Collage your own Concertina Landscape | Sunny Bank Mills Gallery
Jul 20, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Farsley
Kezia’s illustration practice consists of creating paper scenes using vibrant colours and graphic shapes. The Yorkshire Landscape is a common theme in her work and she is inspired by the paintings of David Hockney and the paper cut outs of Matisse.
Explore these influences and learn how to create a paper collage, layering your design into a concertina format.
You will be guided through how to measure, fold and cut out the concertina, then going on to sketch out your landscape design. You will then choose your colours and cut out hills, trees and roads.
Whilst this is a beginner class, it will be useful if participants have had some previous experience using scalpel blades.
Artist bio:
Kezia is a multidisciplinary designer based in Leeds. She studied Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and since graduating in 2019 she has worked with clients such as English Heritage, Visit Cambridge, University College London, London Nightline and Hallmark Cards.
Her work largely consists of creating 3D paper scenes and props, often bringing them to life with stop motion animation.
She currently balances her freelance illustration practice with working as a graphic designer.
When attending a workshop you can receive 10% off within the Gallery Shop on the day of your session.
About the venue
Sunny Bank Mills is an inspirational cultural destination in the heart of the local community of Farsley, Leeds. Founded in 1829, these glorious Mills are being regenerated by the sixth generation of the family owners, creating a wonderful blend of work, leisure and culture.

Gong Relaxation - Farsley | Om Yoga Works
Jul 20, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Farsley
Venue; Om Yoga Works, Springfield Commercial Centre, Bagley Lane, Farsley LS28 5LY
Please arrive in time for a 2pm start.
Join me for an hour of self nurturing and deep relaxation.
If ticket sales are sold out, please check my website; Peaceful Body Peaceful Mind where there may be tickets available.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring a yoga mat, pillow and blanket; whatever you need to feel comfortable and warm for an hour. Some people even bring sleeping bags or hot water bottles (please fill at home.)
WHAT TO EXPECT
All you have to do is lie down on your yoga mat, close your eyes, relax and allow the vibrations of sound to wash over you. I will play Shamanic drum, Earth gong, Venus gong, Wind gong, Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, crystal pyramid, ocean drum, chimes, rain stick, rain tower and shakers.
HOW IT WORKS
When we engage in sound relaxation, our brainwaves are slowed down, taking us into an altered state, similar to deep meditation. This is deeply relaxing and allows the body to return to homeostasis, where natural healing can take place. The added benefits are often better sleep, and a feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation, which can last for days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is not recommended that you attend sound relaxation if any of these apply;
- If you are in the first 3 months of pregnancy
- If you have epilepsy, seizures or an ‘unmanaged’ mental health condition (such as bi-polar, schizophrenia, or any form of complex trauma)
- Severe heart conditions
You may be more sensitive to Sound Therapy If you have metal plates, have had recent surgery, broken bones or other major physical injuries, have a pacemaker, or if you suffer from tinnitus.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any concerns or would like to discuss anything beforehand.

FAQs
Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Your child must be between the ages of 8-12 years due to legal requirements regarding supervision.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We have plenty of free parking and disabled parking available at the front of the centre.
Should my child bring their phone?
Wild play days are a chance to get away from screens for a day and enjoy being together outside without distractions. We would advise children not to bring a phone, but if they do we ask them to keep it in their bag during the day.
My child has additional needs - can they still come?
We will do everything that we can to support your child to be able to take part in our events although this will depend on what support needs your child has. We ask that you fully fill in the booking form so that we know how best to support your child and we may get in touch with you to find out more information.
If you have any concerns, please contact our disability champion Chris Ensor (0113 2430815, c.ensor@tcv.org.uk) to discuss how we can best support your child.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. But please be ready to tell us who will be collecting your child at the end of the day.
When is the collection time?
4 pm.
