A message from our Chef Meriam:
"I am Meriam Djabbar and I come from the centre of Algeria. Algeria is the biggest country in Africa and we have lots of different influences. It is located in north Africa between Morocco and Tunisia. In Algeria I was a firefighter and paramedic. I worked for 13 years and I really loved my job.
I came to England in 2018 with my husband and my kids to find a new life. When I arrived here it was very difficult for me because I had never spoken English before - only French and Arabic. It was so difficult to communicate with people. I was determined to go forward. I went to college to learn English. It was brilliant for me. Now although I am not fluent, I understand most things.
I learned how to cook from my mum when I was about 10 years old and it has always brought me so much joy. My dream is to be a chef. I watched Masterchef on TV and I used to dream that I would be part of it. I sent an email to Masterchef and I said I wanted to participate but they said I couldn’t because I didn’t have the right to remain. However, they sent me details of Migrateful. I found a door and it opened for me with Migrateful. It is important to never lose hope.
My kids encourage me to cook really well. Every night my kids say “Mum, you’re the best chef,’ and that makes me strong. I believe in myself more. It makes me want to keep inspiring them. Maybe one day I’ll still get on Masterchef, if not, maybe a food business where people can enjoy delicious Algerian food can also be nice!"
We’re excited to have you in the class! Please take note of a few final reminders:

Gallery Art Meditation and Journaling Experience Mixer | Cafe in the Crypt (Meeting outside the entrance of Cafe in the Crypt)
Jun 29, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
London
H
ave been feeling stressed out lately?
Would you like to enjoy in relaxation that is a bit different and that taps into your creativity?
Are you someone who enjoys meditation and journaling? And you would really enjoy an activity that allowed you to do both at the same time?
If the answer is yes to all these then this unique event might just be of interest...
WHO IS THIS EVENT SUITABLE FOR AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE EVENT?
This event is for any adult men and women over 18. This event has three components to it:
The Gallery Art Meditation
Journaling
Then a social mixer afterwards
✅
We will meet up for the meet and greet at the designated meet up spot and head towards the art gallery. (The meet up point has been listed where we will all convene and then after 10 minutes move to the event venue which will only be disclosed on the day to attendees that have paid and turned up). This event is
being held at a Gallery (entrance is free of charge) in the West End/Central London.
You do not need to know anything about art to be able to attend.
✅
The aim is to move through the gallery and head towards the art pieces that bring up a sense of calm or emotion in you. You are invited to bring your journal with you and write down what the specific art piece brings up for you. You can take a photo of the art work or just note the name of the artist and name of the art piece in your journal but the important thing is to sit with the painting in front of you and create a sense of calm and meditate on what comes up visually, emotionally and physically in your body. It is not about how many art pieces you can sit with, but rather being able to sit with 2-3 during the hour of the meditation/journaling and just notice the colours, shapes, etc... and what these bring up for you!
The aim is to engage with all your senses when doing this. To heighten the experience of your senses you are welcome to bring a couple of fragrances that you can use on each wrist(optional) and /or something to touch (optional) while you are meditating on the art pieces.
If you choose to go deeper you can imagine being the artist and how it would feel like to be painting or sculpting the art piece.
There is no right or wrong way of doing this: it is simply getting in the flow of being present and aware, which is what meditation is all about.
✅
Once we all meet up again at the end of the hour and head towards the cafe for the social mixer we will then get a chance to discuss what we journaled about (whatever each of us feels free to bring up) which always makes for fascinating, connecting conversations!
✅
Each person is welcome to do the Gallery Meditation and Journaling hour by themselves or if you fancy partnering up with someone in the group you are welcome to do that too.
Ideal for adult men and women that want the chance to meet and chat with other likeminded people. If you're a creative person hoping to meet other creative people, then this event was curated with you in mind!
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU:
A journal and a pen.
Your mobile phone or camera(optional)
Scented oil/fragrance (optional)
Two different textured items (e.g. something soft and fluffy, something hard an textured.Optional)
BENEFITS OF ATTENDING:
This 3-in-1 experience is for anyone who wants to try a new way of destressing, in a creative space and also get the chance to meet some interesting new people as well.
Enjoy a couple of hours dabbling in some creative relaxation and then get chatting and hopefully make new friends...!

current
runs experiential journeys of self-connection, awareness and expression, where we practice being seen in more of ourselves.
This Summer we have a residency at
Riónce Ladywell Studio
-
check us out on Instagram
to find out more information and to keep up with events.
under
current
foundations is our introductory class to experience what we are about and what we value in terms of self-awareness, expression and connection, to ourselves, others and life.
Come into deeper connection with yourself and practice embodied and expressive ways of being with yourself and your feelings.
What will happen?
Through various individual, partnered and group practices we will cultivate a deeper awareness of our feelings and experiment with ways that we can express ourselves.
We will drop underneath the subtle ways we perform socially or get stuck in the mental stories and practice moving with the real, messy, and simple ways of being human.
Come along if you…
-find yourself numbing, distracting, hiding or performing just to get by
-want to feel more free and fluid in how you express yourselves in front of others
-feel like you are not seen or understood, or feel drained after social interactions.
-want to let go of who you think you have to be to be loved and accepted, and be with your authentic currents of aliveness.
Here, you are likely to…
-feel more connected to your true self
-experience receiving love and acceptance from yourself and others for the parts you thought you had to hide
-learn about yourself
-increase your capacity to be seen
-feel more confident expressing yourself in front of others
-learn tools for emotional capacity and processing
-practice different ways to more deeply connect with other humans
Curious but still not sure what to expect?
That’s common! Every time is different, depending on the group energy that day. all you need to do is show up. There is nothing you need to do, so everything is at your own pace.
We are practicing improvisation - listening to what happens externally and internally, and moving with awareness. This is the essence of the life skill we are cultivating.
It may be easier for me to tell you what this time together will NOT be...
It is NOT a place for you to analyse your past and why things are happening in your life
It is a place for you to be with the raw sensory experiences of your feelings, moment by moment
It is NOT a sharing circle of listening to what happened and what he did and what she said,
It is a space for you to express poetically and abstractly how it feels when it feels like your heart is going to come out of your mouth, or the waves inside your stomach won’t stop crashing, or when the world freezes and a cold air seeps into your bones
It is NOT a teaching class on acting, movement, poetry etc
It is a space to be artistic in an unchoreographed and perfectly imperfect way
It is NOT a space for social-facing introductions, niceties and politeness
It is an opportunity to drop in and explore connections before you know anything about literal about someone or what they ‘DO’, what their opinions are or what their life is like
It is NOT a space where you need to make yourself easy to understand
It is a space where nonsensical, non-verbal, and non-linear expressions are practiced to engage with ourselves and each other in different ways.
What people have said in the past:
"What an amazing experience to be in a space where I felt so safe and comfortable that I could just let myself go. Lots of revelations, deep thoughts and healing afterwards. I’m still integrating the experience and having shifts that are very noticeable to myself and those around me. Thank you, Georgie, I was able to express myself in such a profound way and for your guidance."
~ LD.
" I highly recommend Georgie’s workshop for internal expansion and personal growth! I received so much clarity and many realisations about myself, things that were keeping me stuck, I gained a whole new level of self-awareness.
The way Georgie facilitates and leads her workshops is incredible.
I can only encourage anyone seeking a deeper knowing of self to attend one of Georgie’s workshops. Her technique is extremely unique!"
~ AK.
"It was intense yet needed. Georgie was very gentle and soothing.
The exercises were very hard but so rewarding. The revelations faced were refreshing.
It's not often you will be faced with deep shadow work in such a gentle yet profound manner.
For the price, it's what some would get in a month of therapy. Be prepared for intense connection to yourself."
~ Ly
"Initially, I felt uncomfortable expressing my feelings before strangers, but as the day went by, I began to feel at ease. Since the workshop, I have become more vocal about my feelings.
I think Georgie is an excellent and naturally gifted teacher. Her energy and personality are beautiful. She created a space that felt comfortable and safe."
~ ER.

The Final Mile: A Charity 5K in Memory of My Mom | The Bandstand
Jun 29, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
London
On 29th June 2020, I lost my mom to alcoholism after a long and painful 15-year battle with addiction.
My mom was one of the warmest, kindest, most generous people I've ever known. But she suffered from a disease that slowly took pieces of her away - and eventually, took her life.
Mental health and addiction have deeply affected my family, and they continue to shape who I am today. As a mental health advocate, I'm honoured to be hosting this run in her memory - and
fundraising for
Mind
, a charity doing incredible work to support people facing similar battles.
Join me on the 5-year anniversary of her passing to honour her courage and strength with every step of the final mile of her fight. This will be a gentle, supportive run - no need for speed!!
Walking is more than welcome!
Whether you or your family have been touched by mental health and addiction, you're navigating your own grief, or you simply want to support the cause -
everyone is welcome <3
We will meet at The Bandstand in Battersea Park at 10am on June 29th. After the run, we will have a casual social at The Pear Tree Cafe for anyone who is free to join!
You can either donate when you secure your event ticket, or through the JustGiving link here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/the-final-mile
Can't wait to see you there and spend the morning together <3

A message from our Chef Fatima:
“My name is Fatima and I am from Iran. I came to England in 2022 with my husband and my six year old twin boys. We left everything behind in Tehran to come here.
In Iran, I studied food science at university and worked for a medical company and then became a nail technician.
I didn’t start seriously cooking until I got married. It was then that I fell in love with cooking. I love experimenting with food. My favourite ingredient is saffron – I use it in lots of dishes – rice, ice cream, cake, sweets and even tea!
I love the diversity of Iranian food – every city has its own local dishes. In the north, we grow a lot of rice, so you’ll find this on every menu. In the south, seafood and spices feature. Meat and chicken are popular everywhere.
By sharing these dishes, I hope to recreate fond memories I have of Iranian food and culture. Iranian people are very hospitable. I’m happy to welcome you to my class, to give you a taste of the country and people.”
We’re excited to have you in the class! Please take note of a few final reminders:
