The workshop duration ranges from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the level of detail desired. The liquid wax will take approximately 30 minutes to cool and about an hour to solidify. Participants can collect their phantoms during the MEMBRANES exhibition, which runs from March 1st to April 7th, 2024. Light snacks, including tea, coffee, fruit drinks, fruit, and popcorn, will be provided during the workshop. The workshop is open to people of all ages and uses safe food-safe materials. For safety purposes, only workshop facilitators will handle the temperature-controlled wax melting equipment. Plastic tweezers will be available for adding plant matter to the phantoms. Attendees have the option to take their phantoms home or leave them behind for potential scanning at the Francis Crick Institute in London. Different types of wax, including soy, beeswax, and paraffin, will be provided.
