Neurodivergent Board Game Speed Dating, Ages 20-40 | Rack House Fitness
May 25, 2025 (UTC-4)
Woburn
For those who communicate outside the norm—and the people who love them, may we present a speed dating event for the neurodivergent and the people who get it? Introducing: board game speed dating! Designed for neurodivergent minds but welcoming to all who value clear communication, direct vibes, and no awkward guessing games. Over the course of our event, you'll have a chance to discover new games and meet cool single people.
You'll play classics you love and discover brand new ones you've never heard of, playing each with a different group of fun singles. At the end of the night, you give your gaming concierge a list of the folks you met that you'd like to date and a list of those you met that you'd like to just hang out with as friends. If any two people put down the same name as each other in either column, then your gaming concierge will make sure you get each other's e-mail address and you can coordinate a time to hang out.
Our event will also feature a brief presentation from Sarah and Tandis at Connecting Us in the beginning, giving tips on how to connect. Then we'll hop into games.
Before you decide to buy tickets, a few basics we should cover:
1) All games played will be group games, giving people a chance to interact at a table full of fellow game lovers, rather than in the 1:1 format of conventional speed dating.
2) You'll see tickets sold for men or women, our men's tickets are generally for people who feel a connection to the identity of “man” and are interested in dating women, while our women's tickets are for people who feel a connection to the identity of “woman” and are interested in dating men. Gender nonconforming folks and any others who feel this event would be a fit for them are absolutely welcome.
3) Water, sodas and snacks will be there for all to enjoy. Registrants are free to BYOB if they so desire.
4) Refunds are only available to those who cancel with more than 48 hours' notice, in order to make sure we have enough time to find a replacement for you and keep the event well-populated.
Okay, that's all you need to know, so don't wait any longer. Grab your ticket and we'll see you there. Game on!

FAQs:
What is Country Swing?
Country Swing is a modern, lively partner dance full of spins, dips, and fun moves set to your favorite country music. It’s a casual, free-flowing style that focuses on connection and momentum.
Do I need a partner?
No partners necessary!
Country Swing is a partner dance but we will be switching partners during the class so you'll get a chance to dance with everyone. (If you are not comfortable with switching partners and want to dance with just the person you came with, that's totally fine too! :)
In fact, as long as you are comfortable with it, we highly encourage dancing with lots of different people because it helps you develop your own abilities to lead/follow.
What do I need to bring?
Indoor shoes! (Not outdoor shoes will be allowed in the studio.) Dance shoes, clean sneakers, and sock feet are fine.
Please no cowboy boots -- they ruin studio floors! If you want recommendations for dance-appropriate boots, send us an email.
Water bottle.
Mask (optional).
Deodorant/change of shirt. (It might get warm!)
No alcohol.
But I have two left feet/can't dance/suck at dancing!
No such thing. ;) You just haven't found the right teacher/dance style yet.
What's your mask and vaxx policy?
See policies section.

Silvi Santoso aka Silvi The Comic started her involvement in comedy because her friend dared her. After her first show, she found her passion in making people laugh and never looked back. She has performed across Canada and United States, Asia, and had her one woman show premiered at 2020 Fringe World, Australia and 2025 Atlanta Fringe Audio. She does parody with ukulele too, really! Not bad for a woman who started out hoping just to get her 8X10 hung up in the comedy club!

Opening Act Jack Skott
From childhood to childrearing, Jack Skott is the bitter, disgruntled, tattooed comic from Oshawa who brings his self-depreciating and surprising style of comedy to the stage.
Dad to 4 young boys, Jack got into stand-up just to get the hell out of the house and his jokes will have you empathizing, sympathizing and laughing along with his chaotic life.

About Olena Chrona
"I am Olena Chorna, a Canadian artist with roots in Dnipro City, Ukraine. In my childhood, I found joy in observing nature and painting en plein air. After being accepted into the Academy of Fine Arts, I studied art history, sculpture, drawing, and painting in various media and techniques for four years, graduating with Honours in Fine Art.
I began my teaching journey at the age of 16, shortly after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts. I was hired as an art instructor to teach art classes at a summer camp. Since then, I’ve been passionate about teaching both children and adults, guiding them on their artistic paths.
Upon graduating from the Art Academy, I pursued architecture at
Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
, all while continuing my passion for teaching art classes and doing my own original artwork in painting, drawing, and sculpture. My extensive travels, both within the former Soviet Union and abroad, fueled my artistic inspiration.
I also learned one-stroke painting, a phenomenon of Ukrainian ornamental folk art called Petrykivka, which has its roots in the village of Petrykivka in the Dnipro Region of Ukraine. I studied under its masters and fell in love with its centuries-old charm. Recognized by
UNESCO
as
Intangible Cultural Heritage, Petrykivka
decorative painting is more than just art; it represents a cultural legacy of Ukraine.
My mission is not only to provide education in Fine Art but also to introduce Petrykivka decorative painting to the Waterloo Region community and beyond, helping people discover the uniqueness of this one-stroke Ukrainian folk art. Embracing the rich artistic heritage of Petrykivka, I am excited to showcase my original artwork and offer art classes and workshops for all ages on this subject for any occasion. This ornamental style can be applied to canvas, paper, ceramics, or glass items such as bowls, vases, and cups, as well as wooden objects , Christmas ornaments and much more. Each piece serves as a testament to the beauty and uniqueness of this traditional Ukrainian decorative art."

What to expect:
Pottery is about the process, not just the product.
The focus of our beginner clay workshops is to have fun trying something new and enjoy making something by hand.
Embrace imperfection
- your piece will be unique to you!
Be flexible and keep an open mind.
It's a good idea to come to the workshop with a photo from pinterest or instagram to spark your creativity. Keep in mind that the projects you see online are done by professional potters with years of experience who may use different techniques and tools (many clay artists kiln fire in between steps, or leave their piece to air-dry for a day and come back to it when it's leather hard). Your instructor can help take your idea and turn it into something achievable within the workshop time frame.
Take a photo of your piece during the workshop
so you can identify it. Pieces change shape, change colour, and might look very similar to things made by other people.
You are responsible for picking up your finished artwork.
Firing takes approximately 3 weeks. We send out emails when items are ready for pick up. If you do not receive an email (they do sometimes get lost or go to spam!) you are responsible for emailing a photo of your piece and the date of your workshop to programs@theclayandglass.ca. Items not picked up may be disposed of due to limited shelf space.
Oops - it fell apart!
Working with clay takes practice and patience. Every time you work with clay it's a chance to learn something new. If your piece breaks because of a construction issue, we hope that you will come back and try again. Please listen to your instructor's tips for scratching & attaching, not overworking the clay, and making things the correct thickness (no thinner than a pencil, no thicker than 2 pencils). Our studio team handles every item with care, but we cannot guarantee that items will be free of issues when fired. Policies
