Hello... is there anybody in there? Let Me In Presents are back, returning for a UK Cathedral Tour, this Autumn, of their brand new production - An Evening of Pink Floyd - following their sell-out, acclaimed tour of An Evening of Radiohead. It promises to be a spectacular live show featuring a full live band, vocalists and a string & brass ensemble, performing in some of the most breathtaking buildings in the UK. Witness the iconic sound of Pink Floyd's vast and ethereal catalogue of music, performed live by the acclaimed Let Me In House Band, alongside the Mike Nowland String and Brass Ensemble - featuring a total of 18 musicians, embodying the timeless songs of one of the most popular artists of all time. Expect to hear hits and hidden gems from across their discography, with a particular focus on the inimitable run of records from the 1970s, including Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall. We are welcoming the return of the acclaimed band from An Evening of Radiohead, featuring additional musicians to employ the great, epic sound created by Pink Floyd. The band will be fronted by Christopher Buckle and Musical Director - Ewan Steady, and will include musicians and Floyd lovers - Alfie Woods, Bruce Higgs, Daniel Anketell, Josh Semans, Eleanor Kinsey, Lydia Karaviotis and more. The band will be accompanied by very special guests and nationally renowned string and brass players - Mike Nowland, Mathias Svensson, Caroline Bodimead, Kate Scrivens, Laurie Dempsey, Hannah Paterson, Julian Turner, Andy Clennell & Chris Beagles. NOTE -We believe that the arts have both the potential and responsibility to support the strengthening of communities and in actively fighting against injustices that provide a select few in society opportunities that should be accessible to everyone. We are constantly pushing ourselves to find new ways to collaborate with individuals and communities across the Midlands in seeing how we can develop projects that aren’t just artistically enjoyable but that enable space for reflection on how to make our communities more open, safe and without prejudice. Because of this, we do not want to put any financial barriers between our work and our audiences - if you find this is the case, please email us on chris@letmeinpresents.co.uk and we can discuss alternative ticketing arrangements to enable you to come to the event if you wish to. FAQs When do doors open? Doors will open 45 minutes before the music begins, meaning they will open at 6.45pm. This will give you ample time to come into the space, find your seat and relax before the music begins at 7.30pm. What are the stage times? There is no support act, so the music will begin at 7.30pm sharp. There will be two sets with a 20 minute interval, with the event finishing around 10.15pm. Will there be strobes/haze/flashing lights? Yes, there will be strobes and flashing lights throughout the performance, so we recommend that this production is not suitable for those with epilepsy or that struggle with strobes and flashing lighting. Haze will be used where possible, venue permitting. What age is the performance suitable for? This performance is suitable for all ages, however, there are some intense lighting and sound moments throughout the evening, and we would recommend parental discretion. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (18+). What are the seating arrangements? When you book your tickets, you can select which section you would like of unreserved seating. This gives you first-come-first-served access to that section of seating and does not guaratee you a particular seat. We will ensure that all parties are sat together. Is there disabled access? It is incredibly important to us that our performances are accessible to everyone that wants to come - therefore, we have ensured that An Evening of Pink Floyd is accessible to all. We recognise that not all accessibility is visible, therefore we have separated ticketing into two bands - Accessible and Wheelchair Accessible. Please ensure you book the specific ticket for your needs, this way we can make sure we have ample staff and space to make sure you are all as comfortable as possible. From here, our staff will ensure everyone is happy and comfortable. Please note that companion tickets are free of charge, when purchased with an Accessible Ticket. What is the view like in the restricted view section? The restricted views seats are at the sides of the main nave, and can range from a decent view to being behind a pillar. These are unreserved, so you can end up getting a great spot if you arrive early, however, the price reflects the inconsistency of these views. Will there be refreshments on site? There will be an affordable selection of refreshments being sold on site, and you are encouraged to buy from the on site bar to help the Cathedral continue the community engagement work it does. Will there be parking on site? There are various car parks nearby to the venue, including city centre parking. Will there be toilets on site? Yes, there are toilets on site. What if I need more information? Feel free to email Chris at chris@letmeinpresents.co.uk with any questions you may have. We are always happy to help and our door is always open! Join us for the exclusive preview of Sarah Wood's highly anticipated film, "Project Paradise," taking place at the prestigious Fruitmarket Warehouse in Edinburgh. Renowned for her innovative use of found documentary images, Wood skillfully explores the interconnectedness between historical narratives and individual memories. Drawing inspiration from the groundbreaking Black and White Oil Conference held in Edinburgh in 1974, where influential figures Joseph Beuys and R. Buckminster Fuller delivered profound speeches, "Project Paradise" delves into the pressing issues surrounding climate change and the urgent need to protect our planet. With the imminent extraction of oil and natural gas in the North Sea as its backdrop, the film forces us to question our current commodification of nature and confronts the notion that our concern for resources stems from the end of an era rather than the end of the planet itself. By presenting viewers with a fresh perspective, Wood's installation invites us to actively participate in reimagining a sustainable future. Don't miss this extraordinary event, which runs from 6-8pm, with a welcome speech at 6.30pm. Wild Writing: a four workshop creative writing course | Scottish Poetry Library

Apr 22, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Edinburgh
Arts
Literary Arts
This is a programme of 4 workshops. One ticket covers all four dates (April 22nd, April 29th, May 6th and May 13th) 10am-11.30am. What is Wild Writing? It’s wild as in natural, free flowing, without artifice or ego. It’s a practice that helps unblock and illuminate. It is intimacy with strangers who become valued supporters. It is listening, writing and reading aloud. It is beautiful in its simplicity and wonderful in its impact. Who can be a Wild Writer? Wild Writing is for anyone who is on their journey - to be a better thinker, writer, artist, creator of any sort. A better leader, team player, listener, supporter. Wild Writing is for anyone who believes that self-awareness is the key to success in life. How does it work? We'll meet in person in a small groups weekly at the Scottish Poetry Library. We bring nothing but an openness to listen and respond. We use poetry as a prompt and then we write for 10-15 minutes, pen never leaving the page. We push down the inner-critic and we welcome what arises. We listen graciously to what each person has written. We never judge, but we always support. About Lorna French I am the author of 8 contemporary romances that have been translated into over 15 languages and sold worldwide. I believe that the stories we tell ourselves and others today are as important as myths and fairy tales were to our ancestors - and I am passionate about helping others find the true note of their soul, through writing. Writing and teaching were held in a careful balance for the first half of my life and now that I am most definitely in the second half, I proudly reclaim the Teacher archetype, as a commitment to personal development, continuous learning and sharing wisdom with others. As a certified Wild Writing teacher, I lead small groups of (mostly) women to let loose their wild side, to dive in to their unconscious and find their buried treasure. Wild Writers are creatives or public sector workers or teenagers or any other type of human who is boldly and often messily transforming on their hero’s or heroine’s journey. I continue to support leaders in the public sector, helping them to bring their best selves into work that can sometimes seem overwhelming. And of course, I continue to write reports, emails and novels, poems and my weekly salve - Wild Writing responses to beautiful poetry, with my beautiful students. Join us! About Anna Gray I write poetry and short stories, and I am currently working on a short story anthology. I believe that through writing we learn about being true to who we are and our place in the world. I am a strong believer in the power of the spoken and written word to permit us to explore and release our authentic selves, and I am eager to guide others on this journey. I have written in one form or another since being a child, alongside teaching the arts of language and literature. I truly believe in the co-role of the teacher as a learner, working with groups to support their personal growth and professional development and equally learning from those I work with. I have completed several blocks of Wild Writing and I can confidently say these classes have enabled me to explore my submerged self and find my writing voice. I believe wild writing is a lifelong learning practice for everyone who wants to continue on their journey to self-knowledge and creative authenticity. I continue to work in the public sector, focusing on supporting neurodivergent individuals to participate in a positive environment. And I continue to write and share short stories, poems and flash fiction, built on my initial Wild Writing responses. I am very much looking forward to getting to know you, and to working with and learning from you as we move through the wild writing journey! This is a programme of 4 workshops. One ticket covers all four dates (April 22nd, April 29th, May 6th and May 13th) 10am-11.30am. Information Source: Scottish Poetry Library | eventbrite
