May 31, 2024–Jun 2, 2025 (UTC-5)
Miami
The Days That Build Us presents a selection of video works from PAMM’s collection, each offering a unique perspective on moments that shape our identities and define our paths. Rojas’ exploration of Colombian society challenges viewers to confront uncomfortable truths, while Candiani’s multidisciplinary practice prompts critical contemplation of ideologies, resilience, and labor. Friedman’s intimate portrayal of couples kissing invites reflection on the nature of intimacy and public display, while Jack’s work offers a deep exploration of personal and cultural identity through vivid imagery. Neuenschwander’s playful yet profound narratives imbue the mundane with poetic significance. Together, these works invite viewers to reconsider their understanding of familiar concepts and reflect on daily moments that shape their own lives.

Cecilia Vicuña: Quipu Gut | Pérez Art Museum Miami
2024年8月29日–2025年8月3日 (UTC-5)
Miami
Cecilia Vicuña is a poet and artist who grew up in the Chilean commune of La Florida, in the Maipo Valley. Born to a family of artists and intellectuals, Vicuña grew up hearing about the persecution and incarceration of individuals who struggled for social justice in the wake of increasingly conservative government agendas. While attending the Slade School of Fine Art in London on a British Council Award in 1972–73, a coup d’état led by General Augusto Pinochet, commander-in-chief of the Chilean army, ushered in a seventeen-year military dictatorship. This led Vicuña to remain in London on a self-imposed exile, where she exhibited her work at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and published her first book, Saborami (1973). At the time, she was largely focused on political activism directed against fascism and human rights violations in Chile and other countries.

ULLA VON BRANDENBURG: IN DIALOGUE | The Bass
2024年9月4日–2025年7月6日 (UTC-5)
Miami Beach
The Bass Museum of Art announces a new exhibition as part of the 2024-2025 fall season, Ulla von Brandenburg: In Dialogue, on view September 4, 2024 through July 6, 2025.
Ulla von Brandenburg, the German-born artist based in Paris, engages with idiosyncratic moments and overlooked figures from the histories of art and culture. Her exhibitions and projects draw a wide range of subjects, including occultism, psychoanalysis, modernist architecture and Hollywood cinema, into contemporary contexts.
Ulla von Brandenburg: In Dialogue is a presentation of von Brandenburg’s work paired with The Bass’s recently acquired ceramic mural by the Lebanese-American artist Etel Adnan (1925–2021). A leading figure in contemporary Arab American visual art and literature, Adnan created rich, geometric fields of color in her paintings and drawings, some translated into large-scale murals and tapestries that reflect the artist’s enduring interest in architecture and the built environment. Comparatively, von Brandenburg’s multifaceted practice combines film, textiles, drawings, watercolors and sound into immersive exhibition scenarios where the different art forms harmonize into a cohesive whole (or Gesamtkunstwerk).
Ulla von Brandenburg: In Dialogue explores this cross-generational engagement with geometric abstraction—its interplay of circles, squares and triangles—evident in both Adnan’s mural and von Brandenburg’s practice, and staged alongside the rich history of the Ukrainian-born French artist Sonia Delaunay. Here, Adnan’s lyrical abstract mural (Untitled, 2023), at 14 × 21 feet, serves as both a protagonist and theatrical backdrop in von Brandenburg’s exhibition scenography. The works interweave through the language of abstraction and the artists’ shared interests in the social and spatial environment.
One Becomes Many | Pérez Art Museum Miami
2024年10月17日–2026年4月16日 (UTC-5)
Miami
One Becomes Many explores the enduring legacies that transcend generations in the works of ten Black Brazilian artists. Through traditional motifs, geometric abstractions, and a deep reverence for Brazilian culture, these artists offer glimpses into a world where resilience is not merely a trait but a sacred inheritance.
Central to the exhibition is candomblé—the Afro-Brazilian religion that draws on traditions of West African ethnic groups such as the Yoruba, Fon, and Bantu, as well as some aspects Roman Catholicism. Inspired by ritual practices, these artists pay homage to deities and ancestral spirits, exuding divine potency and wisdom in their works. The reimagined symbolic imagery from candomblé serves as a visual testament to the strength of a people who have endured, persisted, and thrived.
Hurvin Anderson: Passenger Opportunity | Pérez Art Museum Miami
2024年11月21日–2025年8月17日 (UTC-5)
Miami
Inspired
by the murals of Carl Abrahams lining the departures lounge of Kingston
Jamaica’s Norman Manley International Airport, Hurvin Anderson presents
a new, sixteen-panel, monumental painting in his first solo show at
Pérez Art Museum Miami.
Mining the space between abstraction and representation in painting,
Anderson creates art that is at once steeped in history but also acutely
contemporary. Born in Birmingham, England to Jamaican parents of the
Windrush Generation, a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London,
Anderson’s paintings are grounded in the universal spaces and visual
archive of the landscape tradition so much a part of the history of
modern western art. Yet, as is demonstrated here, he is also an explorer
of what those histories mean in the African diaspora and, more
specifically, within the cultural and social traditions of the
Caribbean.
In 2022, Anderson participated in the Kingston Biennial. While working
on that project, he traveled to and from Jamaica through Miami; coming
face-to-face with the two murals Abrahams painted on Jamaican history
for the airport in 1985. During this time, Abrahams’s murals began
resonating with Anderson in a different way. Reflecting on the
importance of Jamaican history, and the rich history of the Caribbean as
a whole, Anderson began working on ideas for this show while taking
these trips. Thinking of what these historical murals mean for
immigration, but also as a point of entry and departure for tourism,
Anderson developed this new sixteen-panel painting.

Gyula Kosice: Intergalactic | Pérez Art Museum Miami
Mar 20–Sep 7, 2025 (UTC-5)
Miami
One hundred years after his birth, Gyula Kosice: Intergalactic celebrates the career of the Argentine artist Gyula Kosice (b. 1924, Košice, Czechoslovakia; d. 2016, Buenos Aires, Argentina), an experimental artist, sculptor, poet, and theorist. Co-founder of Arturo (1944) and Madí (1946), two constructive art groups that were centered in the Río de la Plata region between Uruguay and Argentina, he was also a prominent figure in the international avant-garde after 1945. His practice introduced original artistic ideas, such as interactive sculptures, which questioned the relationship between the art object and the spectator and experimented with a wide range of materials, many of which had never been used in art before.
Like Julio Le Parc and Carlos Cruz-Diez, he incorporated light and motion yet, was one of the first to incorporate water in his works. Intergalactic focuses on his experimental production, in which motion was a constant and essential feature. It includes works that he created between 1950 and 1980, such as acrylic sculptures, kinetic reliefs, and drops of water, most of which incorporated lights and were activated by aerators and motors.
The exhibition features Gyula Kosice’s most ambitious work, The Hydrospatial City (1946–2004), an experiential installation comprised of architectural prototypes that speculate on the possibility of human settlement beyond Earth brought on by socioeconomic inequality, environmental degradation, and astronomical population growth. As an alternative, he proposed a city of semi-open, modular habitats suspended 5000 feet above the ground and powered by oxygen and hydrogen harnessed from water vapor in the clouds.

"A Song For You" Carpenters Tribute | Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs
Apr 30, 2025 (UTC-7)
Palm Springs North
After a three times-sold-out show here in Palm Springs, “A Song For You” Carpenter Tribute concert brought multiple generations of the community together for a memorable evening of 70s nostalgia, meaningful music, and new connections. From baby boomers who fondly recall the Carpenters' chart-topping hits during their prime, to younger generations discovering the magic of their music, “A Song For You” Carpenter’s tribute concert was a uniquely successful blend of sing-along-able moments and surprise guest performances.
On April 30th,
Gregory Douglass
and
Michael Orland
will once again present “A Song For You" – an intriguing vocal and piano tribute to the Carpenters – at the Cascade Lounge in downtown Palm Springs Agua Caliente Casino as apart of the "Desert Blues Revival” series.
Celebrating the soft rock legacy of Karen and Richard Carpenter, the performance promises to be an emotional journey back to the music of 1969-1973, brought to life by both esteemed artists: Palm Springs local Gregory Douglass on vocals and Los Angeles-based Michael Orland on piano.Evocative singer Gregory Douglass, hailed as one of indie music’s “best kept secrets" by NPR’s Morning Edition, will lead the evening with his elegant vocals, emulating the voice of Karen Carpenter with surprising precision. Douglass has shared stages with artists like Jason Mraz, Regina Spektor, and Anais Mitchell (writer/composer of HADESTOWN). His soulful approach, often compared to artists like Harry Styles and Adele, lends a modern depth to the nostalgic tunes of the Carpenters as well.
Pianist and musical director Michael Orland, widely recognized for his pivotal musical direction throughout 16 seasons of American Idol, has coached and performed with a constellation of stars, including Kristin Chenoweth, Barry Manilow, and Idina Menzel. The synergy between Douglass and Orland is sure to awe and inspire the audience, making it a must-attend for soft rock aficionados. For more information about “A Song For You” Carpenters Tribute concert, visit
