✨ Early Bird discount! ✨ Use code 'earlybird' to get a 10% discount on tickets! There are 5 early bird tickets available. First come first serve 🐥 There is an endless amount of things you can do with watercolour and in this workshop I'd love to show you all the techniques I've learned over the years that are calming, satisfying and beautiful. What we'll be doing: In this workshop we won't really be painting 'a thing' so it is really great for any beginners with less to no drawing experience. It'll be a great way to gain an understanding of how colour actually works along side water, air, tempreture and so on. In the class we'll create a lovely sketchbook filled with experiments, textures and notes that we'll bind together at the end of the class. There'll also be time towards the end to do more finalised pages separate from the sketchbook. Low pressure: This class is a mixture of learning something new and more in depth as well as just having a lovely day. It’s a very low pressure and friendly class- while learning techniques - the most important thing is to just experiment and see what happens. What you'll come away with: A sketchbook filled with mark making, experiments, drawings and paintingsA few more finalised paintingsMore techniques that can be used when painting in watercolourAn understanding of how water, colour and the environment affect your paintingWhat's included: All materials1 coffee per personWho it's for: Beginners and anyone keen on learning to paint in watercolour! Many people who come to my classes haven't painted since school - if you are one of those people you're very welcome. There is 0 drawing experience require for this workshop. Come with an open mind, and try not to pressure yourself to create a masterpiece but focus on experimenting and learning, thats the main thing :-) How to get here: The Clubhouse at Sealanes - if you go into the cafe, and then come out the back, you'll see this building! If not, just ask a staff member to point it out. Public Transport / walking You can get any coaster bus (12, 12a, 14, 27 ) and get off at Bedford Street and then walk down the stairsOr you can walk/cycle from the Palace Pier along the seafrontParking on Madeira Drive: 4 hours £15.70 11 hours £23.70 (Brighton parking is expensive sorry 😰) YOUR TUTOR Hi I'm Zara who's behind 'Gingergreenartist'. I started teaching watercolours in March 2023 which is exciting because its been more than a year now! Multiple times week I run beginner watercolour classes where each session we have a different theme, generally to do with nature. This year I'm looking forward to running day courses, or some courses that span over a few weeks where we can get really stuck in to a particular subject. My background is in illustration which I studied in Bristol from 2016 - 2019. I have previously worked in a bit of editorial illustration under the name 'Zara Wilkins'. The thing I love most about watercolours is that it is so versatile. There are so many different ways it can be used, so many effects that you can create with different levels of water, pigment, paper weights and brushes. There doesn't really seem to be an end to what you can do with it. Teaching continues to be such a fun experience and I really look forward to every class I run.
