Presented by Canadians for A Civil Society , the mission of Daughters Day is the elimination of gender inequality, violence, and discrimination against girls and women and those who identify as such at home, at school, in the workplace, and on the street. Daughters Day reflects the dreams and aspirations of Canadians for A Civil Society in establishing a Civil Society in Canada which is unattainable unless 50 percent of the population – those who identify as women– achieve gender equality without the threat of violence and discrimination. This year's theme is Building Futures Rooted in Strength. Join us for the 14th Annual Daughters Day celebration in Alberta's capital city. Six Daughters of the Year are chosen for their personal achievements and their impact on making Alberta a leader in gender equity. This free public awareness and educational event is designed to advance understanding of the importance of the civil society principle of gender equity. Come celebrate the remarkable women making a difference in our community. Event Agenda 12 PM - 1 PM | Information Fair 1 PM - 3 PM | Main Program Interested in getting involved with CCS?
