WHEN YOU BOOK FOR THE FIRST SESSION YOU ARE BOOKED FOR THE WHOLE SERIES. -- M*THER LINES: Print-making & hand textiles workshop series What can we learn about ourselves and our communities through looking at the lives of our mum’s, aunty’s, nan’s or chosen families? Join artist Rebecca Livesey-Wright (founder of Kinfolk Families) to create a collaborate artwork exploring family and community! We'll spend 8-weeks together creating and exploring our family or chosen family through conversation and the creation of artwork. Techniques will include lino printing, photo printing transfers, embroidery and crochet. As the sessions progress, we'll start to design a collaborative artwork, which will be displayed in an exhibition in Renfrewshire early 2027. IS IT FOR ME? This series is perfect for beginners and more experienced creatives. All you need is yourself. All materials are provided. The sessions will be facilitated and held by Rebecca and Kairos staff member Katy. We are trauma-informed and will seek to make the sessions nourishing and supportive. Join us for our Beginners Sewing workshop with brilliant local artist Bev Rhodes. Bev is multidisciplinary artist who loves sharing their craft knowledge and helping others find wellbeing through craft and creativity. Sewing is such a fun and versatile skill to learn and there are so many things that you can make once you've learnt how to use a sewing machine. It is also a great hobby to have to help you relax and look after your everyday wellbeing. During this workshop you will learn how to use a sewing machine before turning scrappy fabrics or yarn ends into quilted pouches to take home. This is a great way to recycle materials into something beautiful and useful! It's perfect way to spend your Saturday morning being creative in the surroundings of our lovely studio. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those wanting to refresh their skills. All materials are included. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included. This workshop also makes a great gift, just print off the ticket after purchasing and pop it in a card! Join botanical artist and illustrator, Sophie Smith, for a workshop exploring the basics of botanical illustration. Working ‘in the field’ you will have the opportunity to study wild plants in their natural habitat at Summer Leys nature reserve and record findings in a sketchbook using graphite, coloured pencils and ink. No drawing experience necessary- it’s about using the sketchbook to stop, look and get hands on with nature, whilst also meeting like minded people and enjoying wildlife in our group.Sophie will have all the materials you need for this workshop. You will be given a sketchbook for your drawings but please feel free to bring your own if you prefer. We will be working in the car park meadow located next to the visitor centre. There are a couple of picnic benches, but you may wish to bring a camping chair for comfort and to allow you to sit closer to the subject you choose to draw.Sophie Smith is a Botanical Artist and Illustrator based in Northamptonshire, specialising in coloured pencil. Since then he has refined these techniques to create stunning images which are being noticed worldwide. These lessons are for people who want to learn to ride a bike in a traffic free environment. With all equipment provided, our experienced instructor will guide you step by step, from getting on and off the bike to building up your balance and your confidence. The instructor will work with you to assess your needs and to get you pedalling in a friendly, stress-free manner, at your pace. The lessons are delivered in a traffic-free environment. We learn to ride in Bowling Park in the warmer months and use the sports hall at Parkside Sports Centre in the colder months. You can attend as many as you like, but places are limited usually to 6, so please book. Create surface patterns for a range of products and materials including textiles, wallpaper, home decor, ceramics and packagingUnderstand the principle of design, including colour theory and compositionApply illustration techniques to create unique pattern motifsUse industry software to create patterns, and gain a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe IllustratorThe course runs for 8 weeks.This course is currently scheduled for Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Join us in celebrating International Dance Day! TuFlamenco will be doing a short performance followed by a fun interactive workshop aimed at young children. No dance experience necessary! Just Play/Active Living Horse Riding Hack | TrentValley Equestrian Centre LLP

Open to All University of Nottingham Students (who aren't a member of the equestrian club) to come try horse riding with the Just Play programme! For only £14, you'll get a hack with an instructor to safely guide you, along with your hat and TRAVEL INCLUDED from University Park. You don't need ot have been on a horse before, all abilities and experiences are welcome and encouraged! Bring your friends for a post-exams fun afternoon, or a well-needed revision break and get out of your comfort zone! On the day: Collection from David Ross Sports Village at 12pm prompt Travel to at Trent Valley Equestrian Centre via minibus for 1pm (Syndre Farm/Occupation La, Southwell NG25 0TR) Session runs 1.30 – 3.30pm Return to David Ross Sports Village to arrive at 4.45pm estimated What to Wear: Please wear boots - e.g wellington boots/ winter boots/ walking boot/ boots that have a wedge so they sit firmly in the stirrups. If you don't have any boots suitable, please email louise.smith2@nottingham.ac.uk Please wear clothes you are comfortable to move in and weather appropriate. Legs and shoulders need to be COVERED. You'll be supplied a mandatory hat for your safety You'll be requred to fill in an insurance form and provide an emergency contact at the centre. You will be asked to enter your height and weight - this data will be kept in the strictest confidence and is only given to the equestrain centre to match you to a horse. In the interest of horse welfare, riders must be matched to a horse that is a suitable size and strength and will be deleted immediately after the event. Due to the availability of horses, please note the weight limit is 13st for those shorter than 5ft2 and 13.5st for those 5ft2 and taller.
