You can visit and experience the embryonic form of Jeju Island's traditional culture, such as Jeju Folk Village and Seongeup Folk Village, where about 100 traditional houses and folk craftsmen still reproduce the era of 2~300 years.
Pyoseon Beach White Sand Festival is said to be a festival that combines a vast white sand beach, local specialties, and unique traditional culture. There will be a variety of programs such as beach soccer games held on the white sand beach, folk experience projects such as children's pools, water gun games, water thigh runs, and throwing rice cakes, and sea stage performance projects. The Battle of Hansan was a battle in which Admiral Yi Sun-sin and his naval forces fought the Japanese and won a great victory near Hansan Island in Tongyeong. The Hansan Battle Festival commemorates the victory and Yi Sun-sin's patriotism. The festival recreates the changing of guard ceremony and review of the naval guards of the three islands (Chungcheong Province, Jeolla Province, and Gyeongsang Province), as well as the marching and training of naval personnel. Turtle ships and local fishing boats float near Hansan Island, arranged in the shape of crane wings, a famous military tactic in the Great War. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of fireworks on the dark sea and participate in the turtle ship rowing race, a popular activity that requires teamwork.

Due to this attention and evaluation, Gangneung Cultural Heritage Night Tour was selected as the "Best Project for Cultural Heritage Utilization in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023" and enjoyed the benefits of the "Director's Award of the National Heritage Administration" and budget increase. This is a feat achieved by combining the beautiful cultural heritage and traditional culture of Gangneung with the active participation of citizens.

Artist Kim Chang-yeol (1929-2021), widely known for his water drop work, founded the Korean Contemporary Artists Association in 1957 and began his artistic activities in earnest, leading Korean-style informal art. He turned his attention to the international art world after participating in the 2nd Paris Biennale in 1961 and the São Paulo Biennale in 1965, and conducted various experiments until he settled in France after staying in the United States (1965-1969). After the success of his solo exhibition on the theme of water droplets in 1973, he devoted his life to one theme, which was like a journey to overcome the scars of war. The exhibition compiles his creative journey that led his life to water droplets, from his early work to his New York period, early years in France, and his later years. Through this exhibition, we aim to shed new light on the artist’s creative world, which sublimates the tragedy of modern history into water droplets.
