This MS Awareness Month, we’re inviting individuals interested in MS research to MS Connect 2025 - an event designed to share the latest in MS research and strengthen connections within our community: Discover the latest breakthroughs in MS research, including innovations happening right here at The Neuro. Learn how you can be part of our open science research program. Connect, network, and engage with our MS community. The event will be bilingual, with guided tours conducted in French while English presentations take place in the amphitheatre. Later in the program, the language arrangement will switch to accommodate both audiences. Tomas Dessureault (born in 2000) is an artist from Abitibi-Témiscamingue with a predilection for painting, though his work also encompasses performance art, film, and photography. He first studied philosophy and sociology at the University of Montreal and then studied fine arts at Concordia University. In the past year, Tomas has showcased his work in several solo exhibitions. In his work, Tomas brings violence and love to life, highlighting their complementary nature through an exploration of themes such as crisis, trauma, urgency, and their coexistence with sensitivity, softness, and beauty. The artist views his works as figurative, existing in a space where all encounters are woven into a narrative of humanity and hope. Tomas has developed a visual language that is symbiotic with the material qualities of the techniques he employs, where gesture and successive layering of acrylics and collage dominate the canvas. The selected works pay tribute to humanity’s passage and its traces. Whether tangible or conceptual, they are the space from which a deep spirituality arises, linked to the passage of time, to the fragility and strength of a line on a canvas.
