Join the upcoming event, "PRACTICAL PISTOL ACCURACY & ACCOUNTABILITY - Hyannis, MA," taking place on March 8, 2025, at Cape Gun Works in Hyannis, MA. The event aims to enhance shooting skills and techniques for both beginner and intermediate shooters. Participants will receive training on sight alignment, proper sight picture, and bullseye shooting with defensive pistols at various distances. Advanced shooters can also benefit from this class by refreshing their skills and learning new techniques. The event will start at 9:30 am, with participants required to arrive by 9:00 am for setup and a range safety briefing. The course includes range orientation, firearms safety, warm-up drills, single hand techniques, presentation & draw techniques, close range speed shooting, and dueling exercises. To participate, a $75 deposit is required upon registration, with the balance of $100 due in cash on the day of the class. The event is limited to 12 students, and attendees are advised to bring their own lunch and beverages. Please note that refunds are only available if the course is canceled. To ensure a productive session, participants are required to bring specific equipment, including a functional semi-automatic pistol, at least 4 magazines, 600 rounds of brass-cased ammunition, a sturdy belt, appropriate footwear and clothing, eye and ear protection, a notebook for note-taking, and a humble and willing attitude to learn. Ed Williamson, Teacher and Seeker Ed was born in Ireland in 1962 and moved to the U.S. in 1985. A carpenter in Ireland, he started a carpentry business in the U.S. grew it into a construction business, opened a unique restaurant, nirvana tea house & café and founded pathways, teachings from the spiritual path. Ed is also a tai chi master having trained in martial arts for 30 years and also holds black belt ranks in shorinji ryu karate. Throughout his life his one true desire was seeking to know life beyond the human condition. Burdened by abuse in childhood, Ed turned inward for solace and to cope with the pain. This focus inward would turn into meditation and spiritual practice. Cape Cod Beer turns 21 this April, so now that we're of legal drinking age, we're throwing a party of course! Join us in the beer garden on Saturday, April 26th from 12-5 pm for live music, delicious beer, and great company! Johnny Hoy & the Bluefish will perform from 2-5 pm, and Josh & Mel of the Dirty Water Dance Band will kick things off at noon. We’ll have a variety of beers, hard seltzers, cocktails, and NA options available for purchase, and Red River BBQ will be on site with food available for purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. We hope to keep the party outside, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we'll move indoors. We are selling a limited number of tickets in advance and will release additional tickets if Mother Nature allows. Attendees will make a beautiful memorial candle holder that they will stamp or inscribe themselves. Assembly and stamping on the 10th and the potter, Holly Heaslip will take attendees to her shops to fire and glaze. We will arrange pick-up a week or so later. Rev. CLASS STARTS AT 6:00PM - PLEASE BE THERE NO LATER THAN 5:30PM FOR SET UP AND SAFETY BRIEFING. This class will help build skills & techniques in relation to accurate defensive shooting and shot placement for the intermediate to experienced/advanced shooter. Students will learn proper sight alignment, and sight picture as well as accurate bulls eye shooting with traditional defensive pistols at various distances. This is also a great opportunity for the advanced shooter to refresh and practice their skills as well as learn something new. Prerequisites: All students must understand and be able to successfully maintain all shooting safety fundamentals. Students should know and be able to perform all aspects of safe firearm handing, loading and unloading, malfunction clearing. Students should have experience working out of and back to a holster. Students are expected to arrive no later than 5:45pm for set up and range safety briefing. COURSE BREAKDOWN: The class curriculum contains: - Basic pistol safety fundamentals. - Range safety, orientation and proper range protocol. - Shooting fundamentals (grip, stance, breath control, trigger control, hold control, sight picture and sight alignment, follow through). - Dry fire / live fire drills. - Reloading techniques. - Strong hand and support hand shooting. - Accuracy and speed development drills. - Engaging multiple targets. - Gear discussion/selection. - Alternate shooting positions EQUIPMENT LISTS: All students must bring: - Semi-automatic pistol or revolver of their choice. (a back up/second pistol is recommended in case of malfunction or failure). - Minimum of 250 rounds of quality ammunition - more is better! - Quality eye and ear protection. - Four magazines minimum with magazine carriers/pouch, etc. Please arrive with magazines loaded! - Pistol / caliber specific cleaning supplies and repair kit. - Sturdy belt and strong side holster. Please no flimsy, dangling or cloth holsters. No Blackhawk serpa, Alien Gear, Uncle Mike's or Fobus please! Kydex preferred.
